Hot Dog Meals?

1-2 hot dogs/veggie dogs cut up. Mix in a small can of baked beans or a larger can split between 2 people. Mix in some salsa and top with shredded cheese. Heat in microwave.

Corndog muffins

stir sliced hotdogs into corn muffing mix and bake according to muffin mix directions. You can toss in a bit of cheese too.

For an "adult" version, I used cocktail sausages.

I'm pretty sure I got this here - Chili Dog Cassserole

*a package of hot dog buns, cut up and placed in 9X13 pan
(I like to put this in the oven by itself first to toast up the bread a bit)
*a package of hot dogs, cut up
*two cans of chili (I heat first to cut baking time)
pour over bread.

Top with a drizzle of mustard (if desired),some chopped onions, and a bunch of shredded cheese. Bake.

Although this is just like chili dogs, it's easier to carry to a potluck etc.

My picky-eating 12 yo dd loves this recipe, and cooks it by herself when we have it.


Corn Dog Casserole

2 packages (8 1/2 oz. each) corn muffin mix
1 can corn, drained
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1 package of hot dogs, thinly sliced

Combine corn muffin mix and brown sugar. Add milk and eggs. Mix well. Stir in corn and hot dogs. Pour into greased 13x9" pan. Bake at 400* for 25-30 min. Slice into squares and serve with ketchup and mustard.

You can add diced onion or cheese on top to kick it up a notch, but my dd likes the plain recipe.

Take a medium size pot and fill halfway with water. Heat to boiling. Open a package of all beef hot dogs and dump it into the hot water. Return to a boil. Reduce the heat and cover. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drain the water. Feed the hot dogs to the border collie. Phone the pizza delivery man and order a white pizza with broccoli to be delivered. Enjoy!

I didn't want to be the first to say it - but UGGGHHH...hot dogs are SO awful for you! High sodium, fat, nitrites....
