Host Phinny's Pass the Word...

I stepped away from my computer, came back and there I was in the last room of the ride-a-thon when I saw Fin..so I take the time to start typing hi to her. What I didn't notice is that she was telling people to click the map and get back in line so they could fix that room and that my boat was involved in a traffic jam. Oops...and here I am backing up the line even more while I say hi. :rolleyes1 I think I still have her Jack Sparrow boot marks on my back side.

Woot Woot!
See.low got the Boot!
:rotfl2:

Oh my gosh, you're acting more and more like Aengus every day! :rotfl2:

I'm not sure about the booting ppl after being in a room for 5 minutes or more... I have incredible trouble in that very first room. I don't know what it is, but I CANNOT get onto either ride track very easily. I walk a few steps then completely stop.... takes a while to get walking again... but only a couple steps, then I'm stuck again... It may look like I'm AFK or just being rude by standing there, but I'm really not. I seriously can't move!

And I don't know if it's Pink or not... but I fall off the ride pretty much every time.

I would certainly be very upset after waiting in long queues if I was getting the boot either in the start room each time because I can't move right away or because I fell off in one of the ride rooms...

In my opinion, If someone gets off and disrupts the room's they should be booted from all Ride A Thon Rooms for the rest of the day. Or another useful feature that they should make is a auto-boot feature where if the person has been in a room for a certain amount of time (like 5 minutes) then that person would be auto-booted from the room. And as for the present problems, I say they also make it a feature where people cannot place presents in staff members rooms or make a button feature for everyone so that it makes it so you can decide whether you want people to place presents in your room or not.

I think a 48 hour ban for all of those ppl would have been appropriate. :)

Just think we get to do it ALL over again this coming weekend!!
The lag, and the dancers and the gifts and the unclickable ride starts...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh I love VMK :lovestruc

PS Bella...Please Move the ride starts so ppl cant stand around and we dont have to click for 5 minutes :)
Otherwise your rooms were Beautiful and fun!

Ahh! :scared1: Bite your tongue!!

I had a little trouble in that first room too. But I have to say the lay out is so much like the real entrance that I wouldn't want her to change it around too much.

Tips for the ride rooms:

First room - Wait until there is no one in the "line wrap around" that leads to the start. Then, click the start once. Your peep will weave itself through the ropes and right on to the ride without you doing a single thing. The ONLY reason you would need to click again is if someone crosses the path between you and the start.

Falling off - Are you clicking somewhere? If you just leave your peep alone, you will ride right through the rooms. If you get knocked to the door (which happened to me A LOT) you need to look very closely at the arrows on the track for the ones leading IN the room, not out. Click there continuously.

I do think that they could maybe make this a little easier for next weekend. In some of the rooms. it is very difficult to figure out where to click when you get bumped to the door.

Hope this helps.

I was clicking continuously on the start piece.. but maybe people were always in the way? Just very frustrating to click and click and not move but a couple of steps...

Yes, what I meant by falling off the ride is that I would always get knocked to the door. There was one room (waterfall room?) that I could not figure out how to get back on... and of course that was the room I got knocked off the most... so I'd end up having to leave and get back into queue.... not fun... didn't get as many pieces as I would have liked due to being knocked off so much and the white box crashes I was experiencing...

I don't want to come across negative. Overall, it was a great ride-a-thon. Absolutely LOVED the rooms and the prizes! :thumbsup2

Next weekend is another try at it! :thumbsup2

And I did think there's one thing that could have made the ride a thon better:

Automatic start pieces at the room ride entrances.

Ride a thons that had those ran more quickly. It's been pretty difficult to reach the queue starts in this ride a thon, but they are aesthetically pleasing.
Although automatic start pieces would be the absolute best, even non-automatic start pieces that were placed close to the entrance of the room would have made a big difference. I could not help comparing this start room with the ones from the Royal ride-a-thon, where it never took more than a single click to get on the ride.

It was not just you; I think this was a major problem for most players. While I appreciated the hosts urging people along, I believe most players were truly doing the best they could, considering the confusing layout of the path and the huge amount of lag.

Yes, she did a wonderful job making it look like the real ride, but in a ride-a-thon I think function needs to take precedence over form.

That is an understatement! There were some rooms where I could not see a logical place to click at all, and proceeded by sheer luck after randomly clicking various places.

Pink,

I ended up at the door to the waterfall room as often as I made it riding. If the room is the same next weekend, click just to the right of the waterfall pieces (can't really see the track) that are at the top center of the room and you should see your little person pop up and over back on the ride.

You know where your character normally goes up and over the falls at
the beginning of that room? Just click where you usually go up and you're
character will continue on. :)

There was 1 room that did bump me off the track, and I have no clue why. But I was not at the door I was between the 2 ride tracks and never could get back on, and no presents were in the room.

Great ideal, maybe post a picture with click here if you are stuck.

Glad to know I was'nt the only one getting stuck behind the water falls. Pink if you get stuck there again tell the others to click the ride pieces, I noticed that once some of the others behind there moved, I could actually get back on also.

Thank you, thank you!

Guess that's probably the one spot in the room I never found to click, LOL!

Did anyone take screenshots of the rooms? Maybe we can highlight the spot in each where you need to click to get back onto the ride? Sort of like a "Ride-a-thon for Dummies" manual! :thumbsup2
