I worked hospitality on my second CP, I was front desk at the Yacht & Beach Club. We were typically 40 hours a week. I know there were a few weeks during the slower times when I had some six hour shifts in there, but we were never really hurting for hours. It's a great job if you're up for it. Keep in mind that if you work in a position like this, you will be subject to everything. The guests will expect you to know EVERYTHING. Not just about Disney, but about everything. I got chewed out by a guy because I didn't know Universal's ticket prices off the top of my head (I was out at the valet desk, if I'd been inside with a computer, I would have looked them up for him, but because I couldn't do that, he saw me as not wanting to help him with information on the competitor). If people have problems on their trip, more often than not, they get all the problems in a list in their heads and bring it to the front desk.
But it's also a fun job. You get to have some great variety in there. I started out working in bell dispatch, which is working at the bellstand or the valet desk sending the guys on their runs. Then I went to the front desk a couple months later. Not everyone in my group got to do that, so I enjoyed getting to try both places. If you do hospitality, and the opportunity comes up to go work in bell services, do it. It'll make you a better front desk cast member, and it's a great way to pick up some overtime (there were quite a few days when I'd end up staying a couple hours extra after my shift to help them out).
