Conventions usually set them up for the people attending the convention. Might have beverages or light food offerings there. Offers a place for only the convention guests to get together and talk business or just visit with each other.

Often they're set up by a company that's sponsoring or exhibiting at a convention/meeting. They usually have drinks available, sometimes appetizers or snack-type foods. Just a way to meet and mingle with customers or prospective customers.
