Horsing Around on the 1/4 Western

As much as I adored snorkeling with the stingrays and the Cozumel jeep tour, we are taking a totally different route this time and doing horseback riding on both Cozumel and Grand Cayman. We are doing the Disney excursion in Mexico and using Nicki's in GC. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes. Hubby is worried that it will be cold for swimming so this way we'll be fine unless it rains.

Did you do the jeep tour through DCL or on your own? And if through DCL, do you know which tour company they used?
Our family would like to do this, though my son is 8 and the DCL excursion says minimum age of 10 and I have seen others on the web that didn't have an age limit. Thanks so much for any info you can give me.

I've heard good things about Nikki's horseback riding on GC - so please post us on the Cozumel riding. Sounds like you will have a wonderful time - remember to make a spa appointment for those sore muscles!!!

We did the jeep excursion through Disney. I don't know which company they used, but we were very pleased with the whole experience. We had two guides, and they were great! I have details in the trip report on my website from our May 2002 cruise. Lunch and some time at the beach is included, as well as a visit to a small ruin.
Don't worry, I'm going to plot out lots of spa appointments! Usually my muscles are pretty much used to riding because I have two horses, but the Chicago weather hasn't been very good for riding lately.

Yep, I have two "babies." I switched my avatar to Figment (wonder where I got that name?!), my 4-year-old Appaloosa. I also have a 25-year-old Appaloosa named Cochise...I've owned him for 20+ years, so you can imagine how spoiled he is!
It's hard to tel in a 50 x 50 pixel photo, but Figgie has his tongue hanging out...he is a very silly young fellow.

Could you give some more info on Nicki's in Grand Cayman? We were going to stay on the ship and take advantage of the empty pools. Now, I am thinking horseback riding sounds better than the pool! lol Our daughters are 9 & 8 so they were too young for alot of DCL's excursions.

I had originally contacted them through the discount site, but a few weeks ago the site sent me an email saying they have had problems with Nikki's and that they were no longer recommended. It went on to urge we to book with the new place. However, I got the impression that Niki's might have been dropped because the other pace was willing to pay more for an ad. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the emails I received from Nikki's, although they take a while to answer.
