Has anyone done the horseback riding at Wilderness Lodge?

Can you tell me about your experiences?

You can take a Trail Ride at the stables in Fort Wilderness. They have several daily and you can make a PS for it up to 30 days in advance.

We enjoyed ours a few trips back. It lasts about 30 minutes and the horses are all very calm and know the route. We saw a lot of wildlife during our ride ranging from deer to turkey.

I will warn you though, if you are not regular horseback rider, you will FEEL this ride a few hours after the event. My "backside" we a little sore for most of the next day as well. :earseek: But, I'd do it again because it is very relaxing.

Thank you! We'll be going in Feb. Do you think it's wise to reserve in advance?

I've ridden before but DBF has not and has always wanted to.

Here's the details from my site:

Horseback Trail Rides

Guided Trail Rides Run Six Times Daily
8:30, 10:00, 11:30 AM, 1:00, 2:30 & 4:00 PM
Saddle up at the Tri-Circle D Livery
at Fort Wilderness Resort

Riders must be at least 9 years old
and can weigh no more than 250 pounds
Rides last approximately 45 minutes

Cost is $23 per Person

I guess I was a little off on the length of the ride. Depending on your plans, you can ride early in the AM, mid-day or afternoon. I would reserve as soon as you hit the 30 day marke if you are going during the busy part of February (ie., President's Week), else you could call when you get to WDW.

Have fun! I'm sure your DBF will love you for it later. :teeth:
