Has anyone gone horseback riding at Nicki's at Grand Cayman?
What about Disney's excursion on horseback to the Ruins at Cozumel?

Would love to hear your experiences -
Thanks!
Rae

Hi Rae. Haven't experienced Nicki's yet but my son and I have afternoon reservations for the August 17th cruise. She sent us a very warm welcome e-mail with instructions on pick-up, what to expect and options for our return to the ship. We are looking forward to this shore excursion and will definitely post information upon our return.

I am thinking that Barb has done this. Go to her site and check out her trip reports. I believe she did this through DCL at Cozumel stop. www.castawayclub.com

Thanks for the replies! I will definitely be anxious to hear about your riding at Nicki's - she wrote me a great e-mail also, but as a beginning rider, I just want to make sure I don't get "over my head or in hot water" at the beach.

Rae;)

Nicki is great and she has such gentle horses. You're going to love it! :)

Hey Wavegirl! Tell us about this since Buckaroo's Dad is going on 8/17 and I am going on 9/28!!
Details, details, details! Please!!!!!

It was really awesome! I've only been on a horse once before and that was as a teenager, I won't tell you how long ago that actually was:teeth: So I was a little nervous. My husband really wanted to do and so did my daugher.

Nicki was really nice, gave us a basic run down of how to ride, use the reins(reines?) and get the horse moving etc. We walked along the beach and she gave the the option of going into a trot or canter if we wanted to...I just stuck to walking and my husband and daughter went a head of me down the beach. It was amazing. The beach was literally deserted. Crystal water, nice beach and lush greenery. I'd do it again in a heart beat. We stopped and took some pics (need to get them scanned so I can post them) She was so friendly.

We a ride in the morning ride, just wear shorts and you'll be fine. Wear your suit under it as I took the oportunity to get a tan:smooth:

Enjoy!!!!!

Oh thank you!
Sounds like you and I have the same idea (it's been a long time since I rode - early military days)! The ride sounds wonderful and it's so great to hear that you did it and it was! My 7 year old son wants to ride but I don't think they will let him, so it will just be me (Mom is 73 and says, "NO WAY!")
I didn't know if the horses went into the water or not - wondering what to wear, etc. - thanks for covering that also!

Okay, some specific questions now, if you don't mind,

1) You went round trip (boat to stable and back), correct?
2) Ride was about 1 1/2 hr?
3) Can you estimate about how long it was from the time you left until you got back to the Magic?

Thanks!
Rae
