Hi, new to the site and I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything. This might be a dumb question but, does Disneyland have some kind of horse and carriage ride, like Cinderella's carriage thing. I want to propose to my gf and thought it'd be neat if they had something like that to do afterwards.

They do on occasion have the surrey going up and down Main Street. :thumbsup2

In the park Blue Bayou. But for a truly romantic place Napa Rose in the GCH.

That does sound neat, but there is no horse & carriage ride @ DLR.

:welcome: to the DIS :)

However, if you decide to have a Fairytale Wedding at Disneyland, they DO have a Cinderella carriage and horses that you can buy as part of your wedding package. It's pretty romantic. (I saw it bringing the bride to the wedding garden once.)

Yea I was thinking about the wishing well. Does it get crowded around that area? I was also thinking about at the castle and I know it gets busy around there.

The well gets pretty quite late at night. You might also try the left side of the castle.

You should check out OC Tony's Napa Rose review on the Blog on this site. It has pictures and lots of info.

I bet at any of the restaurants (the nice ones like Napa Rose, Steakhouse 55 or Blue Bayou) you could get them to bring out a dessert with "will you marry me?" on the plate or something. That would be romantic! You would have to talk to them when you made your reservation and then again when you showed up (ditch your GF at the table and pretend to go to the bathroom to talk to a waiter). Disney loves to help with stuff like this.

Or if she has a favorite ride, you could propose there- or during the fireworks- or of course in front of the castle.

What time of year are you going? That might help us with a special idea.

Congrats and have a great time!

Usually, it's not that crowded. You can talk to Disney CMs about possibly having the wishing well area cleared out or blocked off for a few minutes so you can propose. They might be able to arrange for something. The area in front of the castle can get crowded, but try right when they block off the area for fireworks. The CMs will be diverting traffic to go around the castle, but if you're on the hub side, they might let you slip under the rope and propose that way.

Depending on when you go, another place to propose would be Pixie Hollow during Summer Nightastic when it's lit up with color-changing lights. When I checked it out last year around 11 at night, it was empty.

My BFF was proposed to at the Wishing Well, she loved it. I personally would want to be proposed to on the FairyTale Canal ride, I would want the ride to pause right under the rose bush arches from Aladdin and have my sweetie propose there. :) No need to get on a knee but it would sure be romantice. Of course at night would be 100% better. :)

Not sure if Napa Rose (or any other nicer restaurant) prints up their menu regularly, but DH took me to a really nice place in Laguna and his proposal was on the dessert menu! :lovestruc He called ahead of time and arranged for them to print up special menus.

We passed through the side of the castle, by the wishing well when everything was roped off for the parade and it was not busy at all. Just us and a few other people walking by.

You have to update us on the outcome. Best of luck to you!!! :) Oh and welcome!

I saw a couple come back from the Storybook Land boats who had just gotten engaged. :goodvibes It looked like it was arranged to have the proposal during the fireworks, or soon after. They had the boat to themselves, with just the guide along. :cloud9:
