Hors Duerves anyone?

We had a wonderful appitizer at a friends house the other night. It was a cheese stuffed fig wrapped in bacon. It was to die for. My DH still talks about it. This recipe is close to what it was although the cheese was a little sweet so I am not sure that was the same.

This is really YUMMY! I make it whenever I have to bring an appetizer somewhere.

1 wheel of Brie
1 can Pillsbury Crescent Dough
Pecans (about a 1/4 cup)
Brown Sugar
Butter

Spread a little melted butter on a cookie sheet so dough does not stick. Lay crescent dough out over melted butter. Use your fingers to press together the perforations from the crescent dough. Place your brie in the center of the dough. Place pecans, brown sugar and a few pats of butter on top of the brie. Fold the crescent dough over the top of the brie. Use fingers to smooth out perforations and cover any holes. (If I want to make it fancy, I'll use a second small can of crescent dough and cut out shapes ie: leaves for Thanksgiving or stars for Christmas and place them on top. This also helps to cover any holes left by perforations.) Brush a little more butter on top and bake at 375 (or whatever temp is on the crescent dough can) for about 30 minutes.

Serve with sliced apples and french bread or Carr's water crackers.

Yummy! :teeth:

Oh appetizers are my favorite food. Of course I must serve my Dill Dip w/ Rye Round and Veggies...I would double it for that many people.

Also I am soooo into those "Sante Fe" type salads with the tortilla strips, salsa, corn, bean mix, lettuce and tomato. Grilled chicken strips on top. Side of sour cream and guacamole. Yummy...
Topped of with a salsa ranch dressing that I am hunting for.

Dill Dip
1 1/3cup of Kraft Mayo
1 1/3cup of sour cream
2tbsp fresh chopped parsely
2tbsp fresh minced sweet onion
2tsp Beau Monde (Spice Islands)
2tsp Dill Weed

22 people including 7 kids. Looking for "substancial" type appetizers, since there will be no "real meal".. SO far I have shrimp cocktail, cheese and crackers, pigs in a blanket, hot crab dip, spinach ravioli need about 6 more.

I love having appetizer parties! These are easy...

The appetizers that always go first are the Grilled Asparagus wrapped with prosciuto. Just cut the end of the stems off, put a slice of moozeralla cheese over the asparagus leaving tip sticking out, wrap the cheese tightly securing to asparagus with piece of prosciuto . Drizzle with olive oil, a little pinch of salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder. Grill for about 10 minutes (or until lightly brown) in the oven on 325, serve hot. I'd get 2 bunches with the crowd your having!

All this food talk makes me want to have a Tea Party. But I don't like tea very much...maybe a Hot Chocolate Party instead. Yummm.
