Horror Night off property hotel

Thinking of doing a weekend trip for Horror Nights at Universal and considering staying at an off property hotel. We will not have a car and am planning on using mostly Uber or hotel shuttle if it isn’t too inconvenient.
My question is how reliable is the Uber situation at 1:00 am or 2:00 am leaving Horror nights with the crowds. Am I better off just staying on property for guaranteed late night transportation back to the hotel?

Not sure about Uber availability, so I'll let someone else tackle that. Although I suspect it wouldn't be a problem. We had no problem getting an Uber at midnight following Howl-o-Scream at Seaworld.

You will not find an off-site hotel shuttle that is useful for leaving HHN, assuming you are staying past 9pm.

You might consider an off-site but walkable hotel, such as those across the street on Major Blvd (Holiday Inn Across from Universal or the DoubleTree next to it). That will be a safe walk, but it's a hike after all the walking at HHN. The Endless Summer hotels may be similarly enough priced to be a better option.

Not sure when you are going and prices, but IMO the best option is Universal Endless Summer.
I've looked at staying off site since I have status with most hotel chains and its just not worth it IMO.
Price it out and consider the cost and aggravation of being off site.

If staying offsite, I would just Uber to and from the Hard Rock hotel which is very close to the Studios entrance… just a few walkable minutes.
I recall a map of where to cut through the Hard Rock parking lot to the lobby. Seems like half the distance than walking to ride share area in the garage.
