Does this show change from one show to the next or is it strictly scripted with the same things for each time?

It's a scripted show, but they'll ad-lib. Especially when it comes to the "volunteer." So the actual structure of the show is always the same, but you may hear different jokes.

The Halloween Horror Makeup Show is set up the same but the dialogue comedy is always changed based on what's going on in pop culture. But since Universal does not give a strict script, some of the guides can get a little offensive...one time, they made a crack about Anna Nicole Smith with a clip of a grave-digging, then said it was okay since he was the dad of her daughter. And the language doesn't get PG-13, but the little ears might not be safe. Just take heed.

We have been there before....but I kind a thought if it was going to be exactly as before it might be a little boring. But then again I don't mind going on the rides multiple times. :lmao:

Everytime I see it now,it changes.Cause of the ab-lib they do..

Way too funny everytime we see a new person get picked:lmao:

One of our favs for now on!!!!!!!!!!

Its a little knowen show, that is a must see!!!!!!!!

Yeah we all thought it was good too. Definitely entertaining. I actually liked it better than the Terminator 3d which I found had a long drawn out preshow, and the show itself was not as good as I was expecting.

We try to see the show atleast a couple of time per visit just to see the volunteer and the jokes.

Don't trash T2:3D. It's my favorite 3D show ever, if Kimberly Duncan is spot on. If not, then it can really drag. Of course talking to her while she tries to get everyone seated and quiet is an added bonus.

I never trashed it...just giving my honest opinion. My wife, son and niece also agreed.

homie, no one was trashing your favorite attraction.
just giving their thoughts on how it was for them.
we all get a different view on the day we ride something or see an attraction.
if we do a repeat on the T2, it might have a different cast than others have seen.

not everyone loves the same things

what i find fantastic, others poo poo all the time.......
i'm speaking dr doom here...:rolleyes1

We loved the horror show! Our July trip was the first time we saw it.
I was a little worried about my youngest DS5, especially since we were sitting in the front row center, was worried about the 'surprise" at the end
But he was fine, both my boys loved it :thumbsup2

I really enjoy the "crass" humor of the Horror Makeup Show. :)

It's one of my must-sees every time I visit Universal.
I so have an odd question about its casting, though.

I notice that most "hosted" attractions have gender-neutral character names so that either a male or female actor can be cast in the role -- "Taylor" of Poseidon's Fury, "Lonnie" of Disaster.

Usually when I see Horror Makeup Show, I see a male "Alex" paired with a male "Mark James". Twice I've caught a show with a female "Alex". I was there last Friday and saw a personal precedent of a male "Alex" paired with a female "Marty James" (played by a talented performer I recognized from Streetmosphere and Adventurers Club). Is she the first female cast as the horror makeup artist role? I found it very interesting how she modified the script to suit her; it was a refreshing interpretation of the role.

ETA: Since T2-3D was previously mentioned... is there ever a male cast as "Duncan Kimberly"?

I love the Horror Makeup Show!!! It is basically the same each time but I never get bored.

As for favorites that people trash, I have a certain fondness for Twister. I like the queue and the show is kind of goofy in an endearing way (to me).

I admit that I like Terminator too. It's a great place to rest and just watch some great performances.

I must admit I've never thought of going to the horror make up show before but will definitelyt be checking it out this trip

I LOVE the Horror make up show! DD and I must have seen it at least a hundred times. (seriously!) it is always funny. I think my favorite "Mark James" is the guy with long blonde hair. I think his real name is Bill. sometimes he will have a pony tail in his hair or beard. another favorite is the guy who plays "Alex" he is the tall thin guy who was the mortician guy in HHN's a couple of years ago. I think his name is Bryce? anyways, put those two together and they are hilarious! IMO, the best show in all of Universal. :thumbsup2

It's LATEX Alex, not playtex! :rotfl2:

WHAT...........you've never gone there before????

i always tell posters to take that show in.
it's a hoot

mark james really makes the show with his quick wit.

they really play off the audience.

i always see that show at least 3 times when i am at universal.
sometimes twice in the same day.

Yeah, Mark James is hilaroius

He singled my DS8 out and was waving one of the monsters arms saying
"Hi Eric, I live under your bed":scared1:
and... "Kids taste like chicken" :lmao:
He cracks himself up, that's the best part
We have it on tape, my son loves it

We will see this show everytime from now on.

BTW, have anyone of you seen the Magic Show at US?
It was really good, a very small audience too.
My Eric always says he wants to be a magician when he grows up, so we
ended up buying him the kits while we were there, they are really good too.
