Evie went for her first injections this morning. We had to see the doctor first. We arrived at 9.55 for our 10am appointment. The doctor was running late and we didn't see him till 10.55. He then tells me to wait for the nurse, which we do. 15 mins later she comes to us "Have you seen the health visitor yet?" NO!! "You need to see her first" AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I promptly burst into tears as I had already been there for 1 hour and forty mins. I tell her that I've been waiting that long and she arranges for me to see the HV next. Evie is weighed, but by now starving, yet to have her injections!

Unsurprisingly she screamed blue murder when she finally got her injections as she was starving and in pain bless her!!! We then had to wait ten mins in case of any reactions, so by the time we left it was 12.20!! two and a half hours for some injections, nightmare!

Everyone was very apologetic, but i was a nervous wreck by the end! Noone's fault in particular, just bad communication i think.

Need to have a lie down i think! ;)

What a nightmare!! No wonder you got so stressed! Poor little Evie.

It sounds like you need a cup of tea, a HUGE bar of choc and a lay down with your favourite magazine!

 for you and Evie Verity, I can remember actually getting a crippling pain when Callum had to have injections, its awful I'm sure it hurt me more than him.
and when he broke his leg! now that's another story.

 Oh Verity, it is such an emotional time anyway when taking them for their jabs, so it must of been awful having to wait around and see all these different people. Just sending you a big hug and hope that the next time goes a bit easier for you both

What a nightmare Verity ~ Hope you both have a nice quiet afternoon :goodvibes

What a nightmare - you think they'd be used to dealing with babes! DS had his last lot yesterday and compared to you it was quick! One of the Drs at our practice is a nightmare. DH has been 2nd appointment of the day before with her already running 40 minutes late

Hope you have a restful afternoon :sunny:

Poor you and poor Evie :(

Did she give you the 'look' when the injection went in??

When Joseph had his first jabs his face went from calm and placid to 'what have you done to me mummy and daddy :(' fortunately he fell asleep 10 minutes later :thumbsup2

 Poor you and Evie-I know how stressful this can be - its a disgrace the length of time they kept you. Hope Evie is ok now!

Aww Verity big hug for you and Evie   Hope you are both feeling ok now :grouphug:

i always felt soo guilty when the kids had their jabs, im not surprised you were tense
i hope evie is ok now :)

Even though you know it is for the best, there is always a doubt when they don't like what us adults decide is best for them.
Sending you both  pixiedust:

Thanks everyone!

Evie has been pretty miserable this afternoon and very sleepy. She's abit happier now, although asleep again!! Let's hope she sleeps tonight!

verity, sending you and Evie
its a horrible time when they have injections, and to have to wait so long to is awful.
