Horizons and a teenager

We're big fans of Marriotts Cypress Harbor and have stayed there 4 times now. Everyone enjoys it. When we were there last month we took a tour across the street at Horizons. My 8 year DD went with us and really liked it. We were offered a week to stay there next February. However, my 16yo DS is not happy about it. He thinks the place is too kiddy and he won't have any fun. He had a blast at MCH this year, met a number of kids his age and hung out and had fun. Are there teenagers at Horizons? Is there anything for them to do? It's a difficult decision. When he was that age we did a lot of kiddy things for him but my 8yo daugther doesn't get to enjoy the same.

Our grown kids said the pool tables are better at Horizons - the pool tables at Cypress Harbour are not real great (older and uneven for shooting) so on our last trip the kids actually wanted to go across the street to Horizons to be able to shoot pool. The covered area at Horizons with ping pong, foos ball, etc. was nice. The platform slide at Horizons looked pretty fun for older kids. Maybe there will be some older kids at Horizons for your son to hang out with. Or, maybe you could let him bring a friend along just in case.

We enjoy both Cypress Harbour and Horizons - even our grown kids like both resorts. Good luck.

We own at Horizons and stayed there for the first time last June. My DD was 13 and she loves Horizons! As littlestar mentioned there is pool, ping pong, and foos ball. We never had the time to try the mini golf but the course they have at Horizons looked really nice. We spent a few afternoons/evenings at the pool with the bigger water slide and there were always teenagers there and we spent one afternoon at the Pirate pool (we traveled with friends that have a 7 & 9 yr old) and there were teenagers in the deeper end of that pool too.
