Hopping from Hollywood to MK in the morning

My family and I rope dropped HS this morning with hopes to ride our favorite ride, Rocking Roller Coaster, a couple of times. Unfortunately, the ride was offline for a few hours at park opening today and we never had a good opportunity to ride later in the day.

Tomorrow is our last full day and we're planning to spend it at MK. Our first FP is for 7DMT at 11:40. I was thinking we could RD Hollywood again in the morning, ride RnR a time or two, then hop over to MK in time for our first FP.

My question is, what's the preferred way to travel between the parks in this case? I think there's a direct bus to MK, but I'm not sure how early it starts running. Traveling to Epcot and then taking the monorail to MK sounds like a more fun option (we've never ridden the monorail before) but I'm not sure if we could make it to the park in time for the 11:40 FP.

What do you suggest? Thanks!

In order to take the monorail, you're going to have to catch a bus from HS, so you're in the same boat as waiting for a bus to MK. I think they start running when the parks open, so either one will work. If you have at least an hour and the EP bus comes first, I'd say go for it.

If you walk or boat to EP from HS, you'll have to enter EP from the back entrance and walk all the way through to the front, exit, and wait for the monorail. That's a long walk and will take some time.

You should have an hour long window on your FP. So if it's 11:40-12:40 go rock out all you want and you will have plenty of time to make it over to MK.

On my last trip I left HS at night after fantastic and went to MK to see MS EP and Wishes. I took the bus to the contemporary and then walked. It took me maybe 10 mins and this was at the end of a 15 hour day. It was at night tho and in Dec and weather was pleseant. Not sure if it's shaded.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Unfortunately, RnR was down again this morning so we didn't get to ride it at all this year. :(

We took the boat from Hollywood to Epcot, walked through the World Showcase and Future World to the monorail station, transferred at the TTC, and rode the express monorail to MK. It took a little over an hour total and we easily made the tail end of our 11:40 FP window for 7DMT. The boat ride was pleasant and it was cool to see the Swan/Dolphin and other Epcot resorts up close.
