Just wondering whats the best way to buy passes. We'll probably buy the 7 day park hopper plus passes for use this Christmas. We've seen on the boards that they are available at Holiday House and CAA for about $469 Cdn. Also at the Disney Store for about the same price. There are discounts for DC, how do we get this discount? Are there any discounts available in Canada with the DVC membership or American Express?
Thanks
Tony

I've spent many hours agonizing over which tickets to get and which discounts I can get! The 7 day hopper plus passes are a great bargain (IMHO)...it's like you get 4 passes into a water park, or something else, free! The one advantage that the tour companies offer is that they give you a bonus character breakfast with each pass purchased. The one watchout is, that if you are not booking air or hotel packages with them, there might be an administrative fee for issuing you the passes. When I called Sears Travel to inquire about Holiday House passes, I was told there would be a $27 fee. The Disney Club can be obtained on line, or over phone (1-800-654-6347). The cost is either $29 or $39 USD (if your company used to have the old program, you can get a brochure from them and get the lower cost). The DC is worth it for me as the difference in park passes and the National Car rental discount more than pays for the $46 Cdn charge. You also get 10% off Disney store purchases with the DC card. Amex does have some discounts, but I don't think they are on park passes. I think this site has more info on that (try a search). Hope this helps. Jo-Anne

Little different but we bought our 7 day hopper plus passes thru Sears Travel. We purchased the Canadian special tickets that run winter thru to spring last April. I called the Disney Store and the price was almost $1200 for my family. Sear Travel bought them thru World of Vacations and we paid $1017 all taxes included. Sears Travel was the cheapest of the three sources I viewed.

Thanks JoAnne and Sandra C. I was at Disney Store yesterday and the 7 day hopper plus was 471.89 Cdn, incl tax. With the DC discount it was 447.31 incl. tax. (thats only about a 5% discount). The CM said DVC members get the same discount. I thought the discount was 10%. I wonder if CAA gives a discount, anybody out there know their prices?
Thanks
Tony

I called CAA a while ago to inquire about their passes, and they quote USD only....so you have to pay the exchange rate at whatever it is on that day. 7 day hopper plus was $311 USD/adult, $252 USD child. At today's rates, that would be $480 Cdn for adults. Disney store told me that the rates they have are at a $1.48 exchange rate (which will stay that way until their next price increase, I guess). I also recall reading somewhere that DVC members get length of stay discount passes as opposed to the never-expiring hoppers. I've never heard of a 10% discount on park passes. Check mousesavers.com to see the options of discounts on passes. Hope this helps. Jo
