Agreed. My opinion is that Disney provides the hopper to make it easier to enjoy it all better. It does come at a cost. Just start using it now and budget each trip for it.

Previously all multi-day tickets were park hoppers, for free. It was made into a $$$ option as a way to make more money, not to make it easier to enjoy the parks.

I think that an extra charge is justified because of the expense of providing free transportation between the parks which WDW resort guests use to park-hop. I guess that park hoppers ride the bus or monorail an average of 3 times per day compared to twice a day when not hopping. Non-resort guests are burned somewhat since they usually drive between parks in their own vehicle, but of course they're outliers from Disney's ideal profit model and they're also more likely to eat and shop outside of WDW and visit "the other theme parks" My only beef is with the confusing entanglements caused by Disney trying to attract more customers by offering multi-day discounts while at the same time trying to steer them into higher-cost, higher-profit options.

That's why you're buying tickets in terms of "days" and not "admissions". If you bought 5 admissions, yes, you'd be able use multiples on one day. But when you buy a "day," it's just that. You can go into the park on that day.

ETA: And it wasn't a loophole they just found out about. The system you're talking about has not been allowed.

Exactly, it was an incorrect statement of advice from Touring Plans.

It appears that someone checked on the cost for a 3 day Hopper and saw that a 4 day regular ticket was slightly cheaper and assumed that they could use the extra day for the half day requirement. Of course, they cannot, so it was nothing more then bad advice.

Back when all multi-day tickets were hoppers (were they really?), each day was priced the same. Now, after four days, each additional day is only $10. If you want to pay $100 for multiple one-day tickets, you could certainly use two on the same day.
