This may come off as a "preachy" post, and if so, I am sorry.

I want to take a moment to see if maybe I can reassure those of you who have hit a momentary stall or setback. Our decision to pursue a lifestyle that is healthier is not always clear cut and easy. There are times when we do not see the results of all of our hard work and devotion. We go through a weekend, or a holiday, and we think we have "behaved" so well, yet the scale seems to mock us in our efforts. I want to tell you that I can sympathise, because I have been there myself since starting this challenge.

I want to say that the tendancy to give in to temptation, or to say "this is not worth it" is easy, and I am not putting down anyone who feels this way. Rather, I am trying to give you a smiling face, and a helping hand to see that there really IS light at the end of the tunnel, and YOU CAN MAKE IT!!

I believe in you, just believe in yourself too!!

:)

Thanks John. It means so much to me to know there are people out there who are feeling as I do....working towards similar goals....
I love the WISH and being able to chat with everyone.
Your post was wonderful. Thank you for taking the time to let us all know we are not alone! :)
You can make it too....this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change for all of us....to be healthier and happier! Thanks for reminding me of that ........the scale is not always an indication of success! :)
Happy Monday!!!
Kamy :)

Awww... sniff, sniff. You like us, you really like us!!!
:D
Thanks, John. It is nice to start the day with a supportive little pep talk. And words from you, who have been working so hard towards a healthier self with such awesome results, do mean an awful lot.

John, your post is inspirational and not one bit preachy! (Someone who has almost lost 40 pounds is entitled to be preachy anyway, if you ask me:)) I am printing out your post and keeping it on my bulletin board at work. When I have one of those weeks where the scale is not budging...and those weeks will come...I will reread your words of wisdom. Thanks!

John, your post is from the perspective of one who has "been there", and I find that extra-inspirational, being at the start of the battle (again!). :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts -- feel free to be "preachy" anytime!! :teeth:

Thanks John! I needed this today, I'm getting a little discouraged and I guess my expectations were too high.

..and the congregation says....AMEN!!!

John, you are a wonderful inspiration to us all and your words are so true. Thanks for giving me a pep talk, I do truly appreciate you and your positive attitude!

What a wonderful thread and thank you so much for posting it!! :) You truly are an inspiration!! :)

I am SO glad you all took it in the spirit in which I intended it. My Best Friend was having a bad day today, and I thought maybe others in here might possibly be able to benefit from my feelings. I truly think that not giving up is so important, and I KNOW from experience the temptation to quit is great at times.

You people have become so important to me.

:)

I agree that someone who has lost as much weight as you can be "preachy" if he wants (but you didn't sound preachy to me!)

You are a sweetheart! :) You are such an inspiration, John! I adore your posts. I look forward to reading them because they are always a reason to celebrate. You have done a phenomenal job and we are all so happy for you and proud of you.

I really hope you will share some pictures of your Easter surprise with us! :)

Thanks for caring! :) You are wonderful!!!! We need to take time to enjoy the journey and appreciate how far we've come.

Bumping up to add my two cents.:p
Inspiration is what W.I.S.H. is all about. Being inspired and helping each other stay that way. Thanks John for putting it so beautifully.
Look at all the clippies. We are losing entire bodies! The clippies change daily, as do we. We are keepng the faith and pulling others along with us when they haven't the motivation to do it alone.
Congratulations to all who've met their goals, or are working on it. Welcome to all "newbies". WE are INSPIRED to STAY HEALTHY

Keep the Faith!
