Hoping to get an ADR at Sci-Fi...

We just booked a surprise trip for December 10-18. I am trying to NOT overplan for this trip, but my kids adore the Sci-Fi. There are NO ADRs available during our 8 day trip.

Hoping something will open up - otherwise, I wonder if it's ever possible to walk-in and get seated?

Keep checking, I've been looking for other restaurants and we're about a week out, and I've been amazed at what's all of a sudden becoming available. (Still no CRT for us, though, that's the one I'm chasing!)

Keep checking online as often as possible because cancellations come up frequently. Being flexible in the time and date will help expand your chances. You can also subscribe to the December cancellation thread:

Continue checking even after getting to DW because last minute plan changes are frequent so cancellations often happen very close to your desired date.

If you choose to walk up we've been there when they've been accepting walk ups and other times turning them away. However, usually walk ups are offered the picnic tables in the back and not a car so if a car is important to your family keep looking for a reservation.

I will keep checking!

Good to know about the walk ups/tables - the kids want a car to sit in. Otherwise, we can have burgers elsewhere!

Keep checking! We are going the week before you and I just got a sci fi dinner a couple days ago!! Good luck!

Going the same time and having the same luck with SciFi. In fact I'm nervous aboutDecember 14th at DHS, there are no ADRs for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Oooh - good to know about DHS on the 14th. Is there a reason why it would be so stinking busy? (having never been to WDW at this time of the year, I feel really uneducated about crowd levels and such). maybe we'll plan to visit another park that day.

This is one I've been trying to get and weirdly have less luck with this than I have with Ohana (which is infinitely more popular). We'll both have to just keep trying I guess! ::yes::

There are evening EMH at DHS on December 14th, so I'd avoid it if possible. It's going to be crowded. Any other park would be a better option for you.

It is really strange to me to see so many reservations booked solid for an entire week. I know its christmas week but lots of them have no slots that usually have times available during summer months which is peak travel time too.
Even something simple as Sci Fi

I agree. I've been trying some "easy" ones (or what I thought would be easy) for months and not gotten them. Searching the week of 19-25 Dec and I can't find a single Crystal Palace - not an "easy" one per se - but really? All week? And don't get me started on Beaches & Cream.

We've always had trouble getting ADRs for Sci Fi - not sure if everyone else has a bunch of kids like mine (who love it) or why its hard to get?

But, we have always been able to secure a spot there.

I found some available times last night, after a few days of stalking. We're all set for the 15th at lunch!

Good luck to everyone!
