Hoping the Rain Stays Away-We're Going Back in May-TR started

Congratulations on the DVC!!!!! :yay: I assume you will be doing Christmas at AKV, then? It's a lovely resort for that time of year! Jambo or Kidani?

And congratulations on the weight loss too! I would like to loose 15 again, so far I have lost 2, which is pretty good considering I'm not putting forth a ton of effort! I hope to pick it up some when it warms up here and I can walk with Henry outside.

Thanks! Yep, Kidani. All your pics made me want to stay there even more. Thanks, I think that adding the exercise has been the key for me. Hope it warms up for you soon-and you sell your house!!

Took a little road trip today to Tucson to drop off some things for a consignment sale next weekend. Yay for Disney spending $$$. Found a fun park and some Mexican for dinner. To bad Cayley would not listen at dinner and I had to leave early :scared1:

I have mentioned before that some changes may be made for this trip. I think the biggest one may be the resort. Was on the Disney website earlier doing some pricing. CBR is LESS than HALF the price of the Poly in a preferred room. :scared1: We really liked CBR last year. The PO resorts were also around the same cost if not less. I really like the idea of the Poly-monorail-restraunts etc but can I justify the price especially when we will soon be able to stay deluxe soon thanks to DVC. And now Jeff is involved which means I cannot use my fuzzy Disney math as well. :rolleyes1 I will keep you informed.

Wow, Mary, there seems to be some sort of virus going on around here. It looks like a lot of us DISers have caught it.............:rolleyes1

I really like the bag. It's too cute. I have not jumped on the VB wagon yet. However, sseing the bags more and more on the DIS is getting me interested.

I understand the thoughts on switching resorts. It is a lot of money to spend knowing you have DVC sitting there waiting for you. I can't wait to hear your decision. We have stayed at both CBR and POR and enjoyed both.

Okay, I will play devil's advocate here for a minute. I would stick with the Poly because this trip will be cheaper with both girls being under 10 than it will be in a few years. Also, with DVC, you will probably not have a chance to stay at the Poly for a long, long, long time. However, on the flip side, you know I know exactly what you are talking about with the savings in money. It's hard to argue against that, and you do have DVC now which means all those stays at other deluxe hotels over the years.

Best of luck on the decision! :goodvibes

I swear we are all sisters from another mister (who must have traveled all over the United States :lmao:) because it seems like a whole gang of us girls are itching to change something about our vacation. I can understand where you're coming from. I wanted to stay at Poly but I just can't make myself book it when the CBR is over $1,000 cheaper. Keep us updated!

I have the same bug several times with wanting to switch resorts but I have read a few TR and people are raving about POR and DH said we are staying. :upsidedow

I will be looking forward to hearing what you end up deciding.

I totally know about the saving $$$ I have been a moderate girl my entire life. I am a huge lover of POFQ and POR... such great resorts too.
However if the Poly is your dream, and you can afford it and since it is not DVC... I would probably stick with it. (just know I hope we can pool hop there this summer...I have always wanted to check out the pool there)

Good luck with your decisions.

Thanks, it is fun. Think you may need to go and check them out :)

Decision is coming....

I have heard only good things about POR-I think you guys will like it!

Thanks so much, decision next

Alrighty, we have come to a decision. This was based pure and simple on $$$ and once you see what it is, it will make perfect sense.

Our DVC is set to close April 1. According to the DVC board there is still avalibility at many DVC resorts including

BEACH CLUB VILLAS

We have 140 points banked and all our other points come availbe April 1. So it makes no sense at all to pay for a hotel when we can use our points. We will also still have enough for our Christmas trip and girl's trip next spring. We will also use our DVC discount to buy AP"s. We are going to pay OOP for the deluxe dining plan so we can still particiapte in the Grand Gathering. So, there it is-the girls are super excited to stay there with the really cool pool and stuff. Now I have to redo my ADR's and park plans.

If changing to Beach Club Villas saves you some $$$, then I don't blame you one little bit for changing. Congrats! Now, let's all do the Beach Club Villas dance:

You had so many great places to choose from. How nice it will be to walk out the back door of Epcot and be home! :) The girls will definitely love the pool. :yay:

Wherever you chose was going to be fabulous, because Disney World with those you love just can't be bad no matter what. :goodvibes

I was waiting for that. I wasn't going to be the one to suggest using your points for this trip, but it just makes sense. You paid for them...use them.

I'm glad that yall picked the Beach Club. The girls will have a blast with the pool, and the ability to walk to both Epcot and DGS is a bonus.

Great choice.

Oh, just a head's up for you. DVC members got their copy of DIsney Files mamgazine this week. In it, they explained that when the new reservation system is finished being updated this fall, we will be required to pay for our DDP prior to check-in like non-DVC guests rather than at check-in like we are doing now. You are able to add the DDP up to 48 hours prior to arrival.
