So far, I only have my room reservation for 11 nights (July 27-Aug. 7). Even though I do not have my park tickets yet, I can still make ADR reservations at the 180 day mark, but only for the 1st 10 days.

At the 60 day mark, I can make my FP+ selections if I have a ticket linked to my account. I was thinking of buying a discount ticket sometime soon, but waiting until I have used it in the parks to upgrade it to an Annual Pass. If I did this, would I be able to make FP+ selections for my whole stay or just the number of days on the initial ticket I buy?

Also, what discount ticket would offer the best price bridging (savings) to an annual pass?

Am I understanding all this correctly.

You will only be able to book FP+ for the length of your ticket that you attach in MDE. As for best value ticket, that changes so I don't know the best one right now. I used to look at the Mousesavers list and just pick the one with the biggest discount from gate (it is marked that way on their site). But you'll need to balance your need for savings with your need for prebooking FPs. I have the same issue right now with some 5 day UT tix purchased last year and an upcoming trip of more than a week. We also are going to,upgrade to APs.
