Hello all, and thank you so much for the lovely thoughts
Mom had her procedure yesterday after the doctor scared the crap out of all of us, telling us that there's a good chance the procedure wouldn't work, and that there would be nothing else we could do if it didn't... and after three hours we found that it actually went very well, that the veinsn leading to and from her liver looked clear and everything seemed to go well.
She's not out of the woods yet; she's still in ICU and we're still here at the hospital (which gives me an appreciation for my computer at home, to be sure!). They're discussing taking out the ventilator tube and seeing how she handles that; she's all swelled up (which we expected) but her color looks really good.
Thanks again for thinking of us; we're going to be charged rent in the ICU waiting room before much longer!
Prayers heading out to your Mom and your family! Hope everything goes well. I have spent way too much time in hospitals with my parents these last few years and I know what you are going through.
Just a half an hour ago they took the ventilator off; she appears to be breathing just fine on her own. Her color's really good (comparatively) and she's moving around some. She looks like she WANTS to respond to us but lacks the ability to, yet. I'm sure she'll move forward quickly now.
Again, thank you SOSOSO much for all your good wishes and positive vibes; it's really helping me to stay positive about all of this.
