Hi everyone! I've been a member of the DISboards for awhile, but have a hard time posting when I don't have a trip to plan... too difficult without any hope in sight!
Anyway, DF proposed in May after 7 years of dating, we are getting married next summer at home (wish I could afford a Disney wedding!) and hopefully will be honeymooning in Disney. We've been together 3 times now, stayed once off-sight, once at POP, and once at CSR. After discussing a bunch of possibilities, we are leaning toward Poly, GF, or Beach or Yacht Clubs for a week next August, and right now are leaning toward Yacht or Beach for several reasons. However, a few things stand in our way...
1. Last time we went in August, it was miserable. It was hot, humid, and crowded. We vowed we would never go in August again.... BUT of course I pick August for a wedding date. I briefly considered postponing the honeymoon until October or so, but I want to go when I have that "newlywed" feeling and the excitement from the wedding is there.
2. The price! I know that there are usually discounts for late summer... without one, we probably won't be able to go (or at least stay in a deluxe).
So, what do you all think? Should we book anyway once we're definite about a resort and then hope for a discount later on? Hmm... decisions decisions. The wedding/marriage itself doesn't stress me out, just the COST!
