I was wandering about a few things:

1 What do people think about using flight socks, I have never been on a long haul flight before and not sure weather to use them or not.

2 If we leave a disney park say lunch time and get our hands stamped to go back later in the day, would the stamp rub off if we went for a swim in the pool back at our accommodation or had a shower?

I would be very greatful if anyone has any comments on the above.

Flight socks are great. Stops your ankles and feet swelling which will leave you much more comfortable for the long queues in immigration, lol!

The handstamps don't wear off as easily as you might think. You may not be able to see them but the scanner will still pick them up so enjoy your swim and don't worry.:earsgirl:

Have never used flight socks, but if you get up to wander around the plane I'm not sure you'd really benefit unless you suffer with selling anyway! The hand stamps are robust to swimming & showering, but I'm noot sure for how long, but they should certainly survive the day

I had a hysterectomy last Oct and had to wear those lovely DVT stockings for a week, well the nurses said to make sure to wear them in Feb when I went to Florida so I did (being the good patient that I am lol). In the past my legs have ached constantly during a flight but this time I felt great ( a bit hot maybe). I'm now a convert. My sexy stockings are packed away to be used next time!

another convert for those attractive stockings!;) They've been brilliant each time I've flown wearing them...make sure to still move your feet/legs around though and drink plenty of water:)

I too am a great believer in the flight socks. I have in the past suffered from badly swollen ankles when flying but not anymore since wearing the socks. As said before though with such a long flight its still advisable to move and exercise a little. Also, if wearing them its best to wear loose fitting trousers rather than jeans as I did the first time I used them!

My DH has had several ops for varicose veins and leaking valves in his legs and uses the flight socks and has absolutely no problems with them and wouldn't even fly on a short flight (1hour) without them.

Thank you all for replying to my questions.

nattyk I have seen the flight socks in boots and superdrug I think they are about £13 unless there are any offers on. I am going to try and wait till there is an offer on.

Boots has an offer!!!!

Several 'travel' type things are buy 2 get a 3rd free! I was thinking of getting the travel socks and 2 lots of acupressure motion sickness wristbands. Can't remember what else was included. Insect repellant? Maybe but not sure!

(Also if you spend £10 you get a voucher for halfprice sunglasses, only until next Tuesday though.)
