hope none of these spoil your holiday

Lol Paul, you have such a different sense of humour :rotfl:Have you picked the one you are hoping for? ;)

should have put doesn't in the title thread but leave it as it is. Have had a few over the years and am going in august so who knows
Paul
changed it

I didn't mind the typo. It worked well with the first image that popped up when I clicked on the link :lmao:

Seriously though, I remember watching the week before we left last year as one of them threatened to move a little close for comfort ..... not a nice feeling at all. :sad2: Hopefully you won't even have to think about hurricanes on before and during your trip. :goodvibes

When in August do you go?

Gert looked scariest to me!

Hate to jink anyone's August holiday but we're there for 3 weeks and we have a habit of bringing bad weather. Remember that very, very wet week in May 2009 (you know, that month where rain is not usually an issue) - well, we were there, then there was the hurricane when we were in Cancun which caused some cruises to be cancelled and with all the natural disasters 2011 is bringing, I don't fancy our chances ....

funny!!

our last family trip there (6 years ago), the pilot had to thread his way through not one, not two, but THREE hurricanes....two off the east coast and one off the gulf coast...
that was one very scary ride down from JFK to MCO....( on delta)....
everyone on the plane was watching the weather channel on our little seatback TVs and biting our fingernails (and probably making a few bargains with god)...

the pilot gave us a play by play as he was diverted this way and that to avoid the very violent sky weather....he didn't really have to say, as all the turbulence we experienced was a dead giveaway (probably not the best choice of words)..

finally, as we landed safely on the runway, a woman sitting a few rows from me let out a very loud "THANK YOU JESUS!!!" and the rest of the plane broke out in enthusiastic applause.....

funny in retrospect, but not so at the time...

hopefully no one will experience that on their next trip...

Hehehe was wondering what was going to appear when I clicked the link. Provided I get there I am happy but I do hate the way the weather channel builds up every potential storm into a panic!! I won't watch it - I figure if I need to know I will hear! ( said the ostrich ) :)
