Hope in the face of destruction.....

Well, we went back to mom's house to get some supplies - they should have power by later today - but mom will stay here tonight and then head home tomorrow. At 99, she has experienced more phenomena than most of us will. I have not shown here these pix, no need to upset her more as she will experience them firsthand heading home tomorrow.
Here are some sights in her neighborhood as we circumvented many closed streets to get there- and my bil had to show his license to get in.

These people have been displaying a flag since 9/11. How it withstood all the destruction around it, we have no clue. Their house will probably be totalled!
