Just wanted to let you all know Disney is FedExing ME tags for those leaving soon. AAA just received ours (I haven't picked up) and we are leaving this weekend.

I actually wasn't too worried about not having them, but it will be one less thing to deal with now. I will still be packing a change of clothes in our carry on! Also be sure to take anything you need immediately with you because your luggage and you may not be on the same bus so you may arrive before your bags.

Oh, and for those who are super paraniod about handing over the actual claim check for your bags, just be sure to have identifying info inside your suitcase and then write down the claim number or take a photo of your claim check (if you have a camera phone just snap a photo of the claim stubs before you board).

So glad to hear you got your tags...we leave May 14 and I also was not worried if we didn't receive them. I figured worst case I get my own luggage. I also booked through AAA, so I'm wondering if I will get a call from my TA b4 I leave that they are in. Thanks for the hope!! Have a great trip.

At least one report on these board threads that someone was advised quite officially (by a travel agent) that many May guests will not get baggage tags and should be prepared to check baggage "normally" and retrieve baggage from the carousel "normally".

Bring pencil and paper and copy down all the letters and codes (not the bar code) on your baggage claim checks, while you are in flight. As far as photographing goes, if you cannot read the codes on the viewer of your camera or phone when you snap the picture, you must assume that the photograph did not come out good enough.

Same idea as copying down the letters and codes on your Disney admission tickets to improve the chances of getting them replaced if lost or stolen.

A picture of a ME baggage tag has been seen in one of these board threads. The tag was yellow with a Mickey head symbol and your resort name on it. I won't give any more details because you should not try to make a facsimile. Otherwise your luggage may "cross in the mail" when it gets to Orlando and you won't know whether to wait at the airport for it.

Everyone, with or without ME tags, must do a full check in of luggage with the skycap or check in counter at the originating airport, making sure the proper regular baggage tags with airport code MCO are attached, and must be ready to hand over baggage claim checks to a Magical Express host in Orlando.
