Hi,
With all the discussion over ADR's and the ability or inability to book desired times/locations, I thought I would share my GOOD luck!
We have never been the type of family who likes to or needs to plan months in advance for our dinner choices. In fact, we usually would call that morning for dinner that night or at the very earliest, the day before. Well, after planning a trip just three weeks ago for this Sept. and reading the trouble some people were running into in making ADR's, I was a little worried.
Here's what happened:
I called 1 1/2 weeks ago for three ADR's (everything else we will just play by ear). I was interested only in Le Cellier, Japan Teppenyaki and Sci-Fi for lunch.
Le Cellier was booked throughout our stay (bummer), but the other two I was able to have my choice of nights.
So, not too bad. Now, had we been on the dining plan, we might have been in more trouble in not being able to make up our $$.
I decided to call back a couple of days later to see if anything had opened up at Le Cellier. To my surprise the CM told me that on the first day of our stay (that was the first day she checked) that they were wide open between 4-7. WOW--so I booked our dinner for 5 at 4:50, figuring that would give us enough time after dinner to still see a few things. After calling DH and telling him the good news, we both second guessed the time. Figuring they were "wide open" I called right back, minutes later. This CM said she had nothing for us the entire week. HUH???? How can they go from "wide open" for a 3 hour period, to booked solid? I asked the CM to check my ADR, just to make sure the previous CM wasn't smoking anything funky (just kidding--no flames, please) and sure enough--our ressie was there.
The point is--keep calling! Also, friends of our just returned from WDW at the beginning of June. She said people were walking in and being seated at most of the places she was at. This wasn't during free dining, but, still...it should give us all hope!!!!
