We live near Ft Wayne but are flying out of Indianapolis to save $$ and for a direct flight to MCO. Booked our tickets this morning $216 per person round trip. Just wondering what everyone else paid, if I got a good deal or a bad one. We have never flown from IND so we have nothing to compare it to.

I live three hours south of INDY and fly from there a lot to Orlando. It seems I get much better rate there than I do in Louisville and Nashville which is closer. Part of the reason is because SWA has competition in the low fare market in INDY with Airtran. This helps keep their price moderated more so than here in Kentucky. I have flown out of INDY last Apr and last Decemenber.

For Apr 28-May 1, we flew roundtrip for $97.40 per person.
For Dec 14-20, we flew roundtrip for $156.90 per person. The trip to MCO was cheap, but the return trip we got bitten because of the holiday season.

We live in South Bend and flew Allegiant into Sanford Airport for $99 one way and $79 back. That was in January 2006. THere is no ME from there, but we went with my parents and they were staying off-site, so they had to rent a car anyway. I think we will always go that way- it was great to have a direct flight with 2 little ones!

Ouch! Looks like I paid a lot more than all of you. I booked through Northwest. With Southwest I was intimidated by the one way tickets, restrictions and their total price was $500. I read bad things about Airtran and didn't even consider them, but with rates that low I should have. Guess I should have done more research 'cause I didn't even know about Allegint. Oh well. I live-I learn. Thanks for sharing your info.

Heard good things about Airtran, flying with them, $177.10 :cool1:

Flying down from Indy on Oct. 20th on Southwest. We return on Oct. 29th on Airtran.

Our total roundtrip price is $178.00.

We are flying IND-MCO NS RT for $153/person on SWA in September. Our original price was $177/person, but a DING! for our flight down became available a few weeks after I booked our flights :thumbsup2, so now I have a credit to use on our Spring Break flights  . I usually "budget" (at least in my mind :teeth: ) $150/person, but with the outrageous gas prices, my new "threshold" is ~ $200/person. The best deal I ever got was ~ 6 years ago when I caught a SWA internet only special and we flew IND-MCO RT NS on SWA for $81/person :cheer2: (and this was travelling over the Christmas/New Years holidays!) . No one believed how cheap our flights were so I started carrying a copy of our receipt with me to prove it :woohoo: . We are lucky that we are only an hour north of Indy, making their airport very feasible. Not related to Orlando flights, but we are leaving 2 weeks from Sunday (16 days, but who's counting  ) for Key West flying from IND-Miami and taking a shuttle to Key West. Our RT NS tickets on American were $233/person.

I live 8 minutes or so from the Indpls airport!! I booked through Southwest for our Sept trip. Originally booked at $175 RT, but with a recent ding it's now $156 RT per person. I flew Airtran last year and it was pretty good, but I am getting cheaper seats with SWA. Northwest is ok, but I learned yesterday that if you cancel your flight and exhange tickets, you only have 90 days to do it, plus you pay a $100 fee (I book flights at my job).

Oh well, at least you are going to WDW! Don't stress over the plane fare - it's done now, just have a great time!! :thumbsup2

Watch the dings out of Nashville though. Had to pass on a $95 RT ding to MCO, my husband wasn't sure he could get off work for the trip yet.
:sad2:
But we did get a $133 RT ding a week ago and we're booked!

we pay between 215 -250 out of South Bend. we flew out of Indy last June for 159 rt. On Soutwest. We have flown Airtran out of Midway to Ft Myers & had no problems. But my airline of choice is NWA.

We have made 3 trips recently from Indy to Orlando. Prices are pp and rt.
July 2003 $137, Jan 2005 $137, Jan 2006 $192. I miss the cheap fares of our first 2 trips, but realize with fuel costs continuing to rise, $200 pp rt will probably be the norm from now on. We always fly SW. We are going again in Jan of 07, just waiting for SW to realease our dates.

We live in the north suburbs of Indy and fly out of Indy. We took our Disney trip in June and paid, with all taxes, about $188.00 a person. Not too bad! I am trying to plan a trip for next October(2007), so hope the gas prices don't effect airfares too bad. I figure anything around $200 a person is pretty good from Indy!!! :)

I just noticed (from your countdown) that you leave for WDW 2 days after we do :thumbsup2 . Hope you have a great time  !
