If we start at AK and hop to another park, at 9 or 10 tonight will it be possible to get a bus back to AK?

We were parked at DHS & hopped to EP. At the end of the evening, even though the boats were still being people BACK from DHS, they would not let us ride TO DHS. I don’t know if that was policy or just an unhelpful crew member but it was a long walk at the end of a long day as we waved to the boats shuttling back & forth!

Since bus transportation shuts down approximately 1 hour after closing and AK closes around 6pm (or 8pm when EEH occurs for select Disney Deluxe resort guests), it would be unlikely to get Disney Transport buses back to that park. Minnie Vans and rideshare services will be your best bets if you need to get back there. If you’re talking about AKL, you’ll still get Disney Transport buses to that resort.

Nope that is policy. The Friendships deadhead to DHS, faster with no stops or the need to wait to unload guests before loading Exiting guests at DHS at DHS closing.

What time of night was your attempt, was it at Epcot close with DHS already closed for more than 1 hour?

Yes after Illuminations so 9:15ish? DHS probably closed at 8.

If you decide to take your car with you as you hop, you won’t have to pay for parking again. Make sure to ask for a parking receipt at the first park. The other parks will let you in with that receipt.

Same is true for paying preferred parking… save your receipt and you can also use it for preferred parking at other parks.

Same is true for valet parking at resorts… save your receipt and you can also use it for valet at other resorts.

Bus driver here. There are park to park buses that run until all guests are clear of the parks. There will be a bus.

Does the bus from DHS to front of Epcot still run during normal park hours? IOW, from DHS to front of Epcot we can take a bus, from DHS to IG we can take the Skyliner?

I don’t think a bus would have helped the poster who walked to DHS because, in this case, by the time they realized what was happening Epcot was also closed and there would have been no way to get back into the park to walk to the front and catch a bus. Technically as far as Disney was concerned, they were clear of Epcot and it was on them to find a way back to their car.

Stories like theirs are why I typically recommend parking your car where you plan to end the day instead of where you start it, or moving the car when you hop. In this case they had the option to walk, but if they had parked at AK and ended the day at one of the other parks, walking would not have been an option. If they hold on to their parking receipt, they only have to pay once to park (assuming they are not a resort guest or AP) and having the car nearby at the end of the day is priceless.

In that case depending on the time they could’ve walked to BW for a springs bus and transferred there.

There is not a bus to the front and I apologize for not thinking that you might need a ticket or if Epcot is closed. In this case depending on the time you could transfer with a Disney springs bus from any Disney resort.

Is going to DS going to get them back to their car at DHS? I know that for park to resort transportation that going to DS can get you back to your resort, but if the park where their car is has been closed for a while, I don’t see how it would help, so I’m curious.

And by the time I did all that, I could have walked to DHS twice! It was a lesson learned & the walk didn’t kill us. It’s now one of those “remember when…” stories!
