Hooray! Booked Plane Tickets!

It's official, we're heading back to Disneyland!! I just bought our plane tickets for $99 each way (plus taxes, of course) on Virgin America. There is no turning back now! I'm SO excited!

Now I have to think of a good way to tell our children (6.5 and 4.5). Last time I sent them on a treasure hunt through the neighborhood (complete with treasure map) and they loved the hunt as much as the news.

And, this time we'll get four days in the parks rather than the three (which were fine!) we spent last time.

Anyhow, just needed to share!

Hi Sarah,
we too have done the treasure which my kids still talk about and wish they could do again.
For our September trip I have bought a huge helium balloon which I'm going to inflate and either put in a big box at the front door or just tie to balloon weights at the front door with a note attached telling them where they're about to go.
There will be a knock on the door and I'll tell them there's someone at the door for them

What a great price!! We can get those kinds of rates every now and then for Florida, but not for California, and I hate that! Our airfare was $1800!!!

I didn't tell our DS last year until about 12 hours before we left for WDW. He knew we were going on a trip, but we didn't tell him to where. He got so frustrated, though, that he almost started crying, so I broke down. But where we were staying was supposed to be a surprise, but he read our Magical Express luggage tag and figured it out!

My enthusiasm just took a hit--if I'd waited 5 hours to book the flights, I could have grabbed the $66 tickets that are out now...saved $264!! Argh!! Oh well, at least we're still going to Disneyland!

I'll definitely tell the children ahead of time because looking forward to a trip is part of the excitement in my mind...but I'm not telling them yet because then all I'll hear are questions about when we're leaving, LOL!
