I'm planning on HoopDeDoo, but if you had a choice between that and Whispering Canyon for dinner, which would you choose lb. for lb.???:confused3

Have never done either but we are doing both next month. HDDR for dinner (obviously) and WCC for breakfast.

Have done the HDDR several times. My DS LOVES it and the DH loves the drinks :rotfl2: It is a really fun time, great food and loud, interactive atmosphere with all you can eat type meal of ribs, chicken, salad, beans, YUMMY honey butter and cornbread and beer and wine and soda or lemonade (?) . Our servers have been very interactive every time we have gone. You will be entertained from the moment you walk in until final curtain, with a GREAT finale! Your seat will be wonderful wherever you sit so that really is not an issue either (we've been upstairs, main floor, back). You can also "see" a bit of fort wilderness when you go by arriving a bit earlier, see the general store, tiny game room in back of Crocketts Tavern, two or three "stalls" I think one has leather and one makes name rings outside, walk to beach area, plus a photo opportunity before the show begins (they take photo for you to purchase, developed while show goes on).
They took away Mickeys corral (I digress) which used to be wonderful. Other nice thing is you can go by bus (two buses actually, one to get to fort and one internal bus to the hall) OR take lovely boat ride over from MK launch area, if you're at MK/poly/contemp, I think it is 2-3rd stop. DDDR definite Don't Miss especially with kids!

As far as WC goes, we're going for our first time this trip. What I have heard has been mostly positive. What I heard a lot though is that your "experience" at the establishment really depends on your individual server. SO, if you get an "eh" server the experience may just be a meal versus a full blown guarantee of a show. I have heard "skillets" are good so do not think food is an issue except that much more bang at HDDR, Plus drinks (I said that already, right! :rotfl: )

So, all things considered I'd do HDDR over WC though if I could squeeze in both I would do both.
Whatever you decide have a great time and YUMMY food too!!

Great review A1TINKFANS! I would not have even thought of comparing the two, but they way you put it....
I think we are going to do both on our trip. They both sound fun - and different enough to really enjoy both!

You can't compare them - one is an interactive dinner show, the other is a hotel restaurant.

Hoop De Doo is a favorite for us. Lots of fun and I think every WDW fan should exp it at least once. It's a long standing WDW staple and it's consistently good. I enjoy the food but I go for the show.

I don't care much for WCC; we even stayed at WL and chose to not dine there. I don't think the food is that good (I am a Texan!) and the atmosphere is hit or miss. If you get a great waiter, it's fun. If not, you're in a hotel lobby having dinner.

Post envy..me too!!:rotfl:
As for HDDR, it's a show and so much fun!! Interaction with the cast members in the show, good food, I can't enough good things about it.
WC, is good too! Just a different experience. Good food, etc.
If you can do both, do both! Then next time (and we know there is always a NEXT TIME) you can do the one you love most and try something else new!

Have been to both and too difficult to compare because they are so different...

WCC- We actually always enjoy...We have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner several times...We love breakfast the most, lunch menu is better than dinner, but the dinner atmosphere is better than lunch...We enjoy the setting of the lodge and the fun servers/atmosphere at breakfast and dinner...The prices are very affordable and you get large portions of food...We never use our dining plan credits for breakfast because it is so cheap but it is great when you use the plan for lunch or dinner...

HDD-We had a wonderful time...The show is so much fun and kept my kids happy and smiling the whole time...The food they serve is very good tasting but there is no choice (like at WCC)...DH loves that there is beer...Servers are nice and overall it is great experience that you should have at least once...But it is expensive or requires 2 credits...I really don't think it is worth using your 2 credits if you have the basic plan...This is one that I would pay for Tier 1 because it is not much more money and we use our credits else where...We always end up paying for a couple of meals OOP and this is one we think is worth it because I am not using 2 credits for not such great seats...Center stage, upstairs are really good but you cannot get them for sure...

I would do both if you can

They're completely different, but if I had to chose one ... I'd choose the HDDR.
