I am wondering if we should do hoop de doo or luau in december?
We are staying mostly at the swan and a few days at the WL...
It;s for 2 adults--our 1st anniversary

I would recommend the Luau over Hoop. Went once to the Hoop and felt it was totally over rated. The entertainment was good, but the food was fair.

That's what I have been hearing terk...thank you!@
I really have no interest in HDD...
Is the luau ohana quality? I just LOVE ohana

I haven't been since the refurb, so don't know if the Luau is still offered in 2 seatings... if it is, definitely go for the later show. We have done both, and what a difference! The first time was the late seating, and it was darker and a more adult crowd. The second time, we actually went on the night of our 25th anniversary, and the place looked like a school cafeteria, and I attribute that to the early seating. We did not enjoy it the second time, at all.

Either way, hope you enjoy your anniversary celebration!

We do the Luau just about everytime we go to WDW and would agree it's the better of the 2. It is good food but not 'Ohana quality.

The Hoop-dee-Doo is more of a "Home Cooked, Country Meal". But you have to admit the entertainment is a riot!

I say do the spirit of aloha luau! My DH and I just went to it the first week of may. We were at WDW for a graduation trip and our 3rd anniversary. The food was grat and so was the entertaining. They had a special slow dance for newlyweds and people celebrating their anniversaries- fun!!!This was our first trip to WDW and we decided on the Luau and next time we will go to the HDDR- hopefully we will have a little one to enjoy it with us!Have Fun!!

Now, the last time we did the Luau was 97 and the food was terrible. HDD was better (and I don't think it is very good). HDD has a very good show. We saw Mickey's Luau, so I don't know about the adult luau.
