Hoop-Di-Do Fans

Hi there!

We are looking to branch out and try a few new restaurants on our August visit to Disney. Since we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, I thought that the Hoop-Di-Do Review might be an interesting choice, but I had a few questions.

1. About how long would dinner/show last?

2. I have an 8-year-old and a 2-year-old. I am sure my older child will like the show, but will the 2-year-old be bored? He is a sweet boy, but he could make a long dinner pretty miserable if it is too long and he isn't engaged. Is there enough going on to keep his interest, or are we better waiting until he is older?

3. Does tier matter? We aren't sure if we will use the dining plan or pay out of pocket for it if we go, but I noticed that you can't get the first tier with the dining plan, so I was curious as to whether there was a big difference in them.

there wont be characters to entertain in the face type of entertainment but people sing. Probably no worse for a two year old than a regular dinner if done early enough

I think it does matter. Depending on your number of people the tables are set up so that there are some to the sides where there may be beams in the way of the stage sight for tier2 not sure on tier 3 but tier 1 is center and possibly in front

If you're concerned about 2yr old Try for tier one. Show seems much more interactive if you are front and center. This is a must do for a family dinner. Just try for early seating with kids .

There is ALOT going on with this show! If your son is a people watcher, he should be entertained. The servers are full of character too. The food is spaced out so that could help hold his attention as well. (They perform a little then go off stage while the servers bring out a course of dinner. Then they perform again & then serve more food. Lather, rinse, repeat. ) We had tier 2 and had a great seat. We could see everything but weren't in any danger of being pulled up on stage.

I think the total show lasts about 2 hours. It didn't feel like that long when we were sitting there though. We all loved it & it was the 1st place on the list to go to for this year's trip.

We've got to the HDD and love it!! The only time we had an issue with my DS (who was 2 at the time) was when we went to the LATE show (I think @ 9PM) It had been a long day and he had had enough. I spent the entire show, sitting outside, rocking him. My DH and DD stayed and watched.

Tier 1 is DEFINITELY WORTH IT!! The show is great and you will really enjoy it.

We used the dining plan and were tier 2, which can be just fine. In fact, our resort computers were out so it took me an hour to check-in. Because of this we got to the show late. Well, not late, just about 1 minute before they closed the doors and got rolling. It actually worked out fine.

My point, though, is that they sat us in the very back table. As far back as you can go on the first floor. Right by the back door. Our table was raised a bit, as were our chairs. Almost like stools, but not 100% like that. Not as high. We could see perfectly overy everyone's head and we had a fantastic time. I am sure I'd rather have those seats than be closer. The view was almost certainly better. You could see the entire room (which is where a lot of the action takes place!) and we were not crowded.

Even being that far away the performers interacted with us several times, spoke to our kids, and it was an awesome time. I am considering requesting that table in the future.
