Hoop Dee Doo

We are actually staying at BWI, but we are going to the 7:15pm show, and MK closes at 8pm that day. I'm not sure what would be the best way to get there and back.:confused3

I think in that case, I would drive to the parking lot of Fort Wilderness, unless Magic Kingdom is open late to resort guests. Park transportation only runs 1 hour after park closing, if I remember correctly.

Do they charge your credit card in full when making a reservations for Hoop Dee Doo (as they did with CRT)?

Also, can I book now for April, or is this show affected by the delayed reservations renovation process?

Your credit card will not be charged upon the reservation. I was confused about this, thinking that it would be, when I made my reservations for December. :cloud9:

I don't know if it's one of the ones being booked or not. Maybe someone else knows better or you could simply call Disney and ask.

Yes, our credit card WAS charged upon making the reservation (3 months before our visit in October), which I was happy about because it was paid off before we got there!

Hoopdeedoo is the one thing I will always splurge on, and it's the family's favorite memory from our recent trip. We were cat 3 - the entertainers mingled with us just as much as they did the people on the floor. We sat on the right side balcony - the seats swivel - and you won't miss anything. I wouldn't ever bother to pay more for Cat 1 or 2. You will have a ball!

As was mentioned, if you're staying onsite you may find it easiest to take the bus to MK and the boat to FW. I'm not sure about the 5:00 show, we've always taken the boat and bus back from that one, but after the 7:15 and 9:30 shows they have buses back to the resorts from the stop just behind Pioneer Hall. If you drive you have to park at the entrance to FW and take the internal bus back to Pioneer Hall.

As for making reservations early, you should make them as early as you can. Tables are assigned according to when the reservations are made, so for the most part the earlier you reserve the better your table. There are no bad tables though, in my opinion. If you're booking tier 1 and want a table right up front you should call at 180 days, for example. If you're going in January I'd bet you can still get a reservation now. I think it might have been three years ago January that I went to guest services at Magic Kingdom just before the 3:00 parade and was able to get a table at the 5:00 HDDR show. We watched the parade, boated over to FW, let DD have a couple of pony rides and then went right into Pioneer Hall. Our table was on the floor at the very back, which would now be considered category 2, I think.

If you're using the DDP your credit card should not be charged when you book. The number will be taken as a guarantee only. If you're not using the DDP they will charge your card in full when you make the reservation.

we will be at AK the day that we are going to HDD. What would be the best way to get to FW from AK?

thanks!

We had cat 3 seats and could see perfectly! It was a blast for my 14 year old nephew and my 10 year old dd. They still talk about the show

Is this a show 2 adults with no kids would enjoy? I've been reading all the positive reviews, but I'm curious if this is geared more to children?

I would bus to Wilderness Lodge and boat over from there. You can take the bus to FW but then you'd need to take a second internal bus to Pioneer Hall. I think the boat ride is nice, and it's less confusing. :goodvibes

Absolutely.:thumbsup2 If anything, some of the humor, if you listen closely, is probably lost on little ones, but they love the goofiness of the whole show.:rotfl2:

Hi everyone.... Im new to this site. I really would love some Information on going to the Hoop Dee Doo.. Do you really have to make reservations way ahead of time? DH and I are book to go DW in mid Jan., and I just found out that they had dinner shows on site... We would like to go to this show but thought that we could just make plans on our own.. Maybe like a few days before we wanted to go and see the show....We are staying on Disney...Thanks for all of your help...

A few things:

Welcome to the DIS!:flower3:

If you have a question specifically about something, and it's different than the original post question, you should start a new thread of your own and you'll probably get more responses.:teacher:

Yeah, you pretty much have to reserve any show or table service(TS) meal in advance. I don't remember what the outside number is, but most places is 180 days PTA. If you are going in Jan, then you can call for ressies anywhere. HDDR has a 9:30 show nightly that usually has openings. The 5:00 show is usually booked up.

Hope this helped.:goodvibes

If you get out when the parks are closed, they will have buses that will take you from Pioneer Hall to your resort. No worries!

However, if the park closes that early, is it because of a hard ticketed even at the parks that night? If so, the buses are still running at MK, and you can get back the way you came.

YES! Hubby and I discovered it based on a recommendation from our Mousketrips vacation planner who highly recommended it. We were skeptical, but went, and LOVED IT! We are going again this trip, and taking along two other adults-no-kids with us to enjoy it!

No, the park closes that early because we are going in the off season in February.
If I understand correctly the show is 2 hours long, and we are going to the 7:15pm show.
That means we won't be done till 9:15pm.
MK closes at 8pm, and HS and Epcot at 9pm. Does that mean there will be buses going to various resorts. Is it just a couple of buses and they make stops at all resorts.

Yes, there will be buses, and yes, they will make multiple stops. They group them by area so you're not running all over the place dropping people off. I think each bus will make three or four stops.

We are going to the 9:30 show on December 1st which is a EMH night at MK. We were planning to do MK beforehand. We are staying off-site. Should we drive over to FW or will we be fine if we take the boat over from MK since we will already be there and then take the boat back.

Magic Kingdom, then closes at 11, right? The show will be over about 11:15 p.m. Park transportation will run until at least midnight. You should be fine, IMHO. They will scoot you out pretty quickly. Head immediately to the boat dock, and over to Magic Kingdom. That shouldn't take a 1/2 hour.

At the very least, it would be easy to catch the Hoop Dee Doo arranged bus to Poly and then walk to the TTC from there.

Thank you for the info. I didn't know I could walk to the TTC from Poly.

Yep, it's only about a 5 minute walk from the Great Ceremonial House to the TTC!

Assuming the bus isn't totally packed, that would probably be the easiest route for you upon return. I didn't realize you could walk that easily either.
