Is it worth it to go to the Hoop Dee Doo if you can only get category 3 seating?

I think so...It is a lot of fun...Seating is set up for you to able to see from any where...So seeing will not be an issue...Sure you are a bit removed from the action but you will still have a good time...The food is good and is worth a one time (at least) visit...

Again, I think you will still enjoy the experience...But that is just MO ;)

We request Cat. 3 seating. I love sitting on the balcony at the tall tables. DH and DS are pretty shy people so being away from the girls sitting on laps and pulling kids on stage is a very good thing for our family!

Seriously though, we have been 3 times (all before the different categories of seating) and we sat on the balcony and LOVED it! We requested a category 3 table for the first week of December. You can see great because you are above everything. I honestly think you can probably see more than the Cat. 2's that are in the back on the floor.

Absolutely! I've only been once and I actually thought sitting on the balcony would be ideal. You can see everything that's going on, but you feel like you have a little privacy so to speak. For me, the show would be worth going to see if I was outside looking in. It's always a good time!

I have to disagree here. I have sat in the balcony and it was very unconfurable for me. I don't like the new catagory seating at all. It was better the otherway. The pricing is way off the wall here now. I loved the show and the food is good but the price is not. I have not gone since they changed the seating and raised the price. I can get the same food at Trails-End for a lot less minus the show. Now if they would change the Menu to inclued other items of Value I would re-consider but I would not choose catagory 3 buy no means.

I'm not sure what the difference is between category 2 and 3. We had category 2 on the dining plan and sat on the balcony in the center. I thought they were really good seats. It doesn't sound like 3 is much different. My kids loved watching the show from up there and we still had performers come up and talk to us during the show. For the dining plan it was well worth the 2 TS meals. I don't know how much it costs out of pocket, though. But we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Absolutely it's worth it!::yes:: I believe that cat 2 is on the floor towards the back and in the balcony towards the front, and cat 3 is the balcony in the back. :scratchin I have been in both categories and both were great seats and had a fantastic time.:woohoo:

DH just wants to go back for the strawberry shortcake ;)
they interact with the crowd on the main level & balcony (all categories)
Go you'll enjoy it

I'm going this coming March to HDD. Do you all think it is worth it? We will be on the DxDP and in category 1 seating. Thanks.

It's corny, but a lot of fun, and appropriate for all ages. We see it every couple of years. Although the show doesn't really change we still have fun every time. Last year we did Mickey's BBQ and we have HDDR planned for our next trip. In our opinions the BBQ wasn't nearly as good but we're glad we tried it. Being on the DxDP I think this is the perfect opportunity for you to try HDDR. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! :goodvibes

I went several times as a kid, and DH and I went back last year for our honeymoon. We sat front and center last time, but I think anywhere you sit you'll enjoy it. Do you have little ones in your party? They will especially get into it! Enjoy!

The Hoop Dee Doo is one of our MOST favorite things to do when we're at Disney. We stay at the Fort and it's great to head over to the Hoop Dee Doo and just have a GREAT night. I don't think I would miss it no matter where I was seated.

I just booked it last night for our trip in February. It is our first time seeing it, and I am a little nervous about it. We are not on the dining plan, and booked category 1, are all the seats in category 1 about the same? If we drive to FW where would we park to get to Pioneer Hall? Thanks:)

No little ones. Just 3 college students. One of the girls I am going with went as a child and this was a must do for her on this upcoming trip. Is category 1 seating where you sat?

:confused3
Hi everyone.... Im new to this site. I really would love some Information on going to the Hoop Dee Doo.. Do you really have to make reservations way ahead of time? DH and I are book to go DW in mid Jan., and I just found out that they had dinner shows on site... We would like to go to this show but thought that we could just make plans on our own.. Maybe like a few days before we wanted to go and see the show....We are staying on Disney...Thanks for all of your help...

You will park at the Fort Wilderness parking lot and take a bus back to Pioneer Hall. This is fairly easy getting there. However, on the trip back, with everyone leaving at once, it is a mad house and the bus ride is crowded and loud. It's doable, and if you are staying off property, it's the only way to go. If you are onsite, consider taking the boat back to Magic Kingdom and then going from there, depending on where you are staying.

Hey, first of all, welcome to the DIS. You will find a great many people who will willing to share their expertise and opinion.

It really depends on when you travel. We have been able to snag a seat the same week we were travelling, but I think we were lucky. The show is a big hit and lots of people are making their plans 6 months in advance or better. If you really want to do it, go ahead and book, you can cancel up to 48 hours ahead with no penalty, but that way you definately have a seat.

We are actually staying at BWI, but we are going to the 7:15pm show, and MK closes at 8pm that day. I'm not sure what would be the best way to get there and back.:confused3

Do they charge your credit card in full when making a reservations for Hoop Dee Doo (as they did with CRT)?

Also, can I book now for April, or is this show affected by the delayed reservations renovation process?
