We are going to WDW in October for ten days with a 7 year old and a 18 month old. We are taking two days off from the parks to chill at the hotel, go to Disney Springs (has the name officially changed already?) and just do activities not related to the theme parks.

I have heard wonderful things about Hoop Dee Doo and our family really wants to do it. My 7 year old specially.

Does anyone have any experience with the show with smaller children? Is there room to roam around if she becomes restless? She is usually chill but I'm a bit nervous.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

There really isn't room to roam at least on the main level. It would be dangerous for her and the cast members. There might be more room on the upper level, I've never sat up there. But there is a lot of stuff to listen to and watch through the whole show, in addition to eating, so I'm betting your 18 month old will have enough to keep their attention. We are taking our 2 year old in November.

You, Hubby and your 7 year old are in for a great show and family food dinner....We go almost every trip.

I believe there is so much action, songs, lighting changes, movement of the actors, the 18 m0nth old (he or she) will be kept busy.

If the little one is that restless, you could ask to go out the front doors for a few minutes and walk a bit.

Depending what show you have and time, FW has a chip and dale sing along campfire around dusk. Its free and there a Disney movie after. It is located next to the meadow trading post and poll. A lot of fun!

We have taken both our younger two kids when they were about that age and it wasn't a problem. The show moves fast and isn't very long. Both mine were fascinated by everything. If she needed to run around, you would have to go outside, there isn't room inside and you would impede other people's view. I wouldn't worry about it though! Have fun, it is a family favorite.

As others have stated, there is no room for a child to run around inside the restaurant. It would be a safety hazard to the performers and servers and an annoyance and distraction for the other guests.

But this is not unique to HDDR. The same could be said for any restaurant on property, where tables are placed quite close close together. If your child can't remain in their seat, you need to take them out of the restaurant until they calm down.

If your daughter gets into where she needs to be taken out of her highchair and taken out (which I doubt), just take her to the restrooms. Trust me, she can dance out there all she wants. Um, take your selfie stick.

Took twin 18 month olds and it was the best meal of our trip! My husband and I are very conscientious diners, and would spend a lot of our time at restaurants picking up after our twins, trying to keep their food mess to a minimum, and keep them happy and entertained. Our server was so great! She brought us some mac and cheese for them I believe, maybe it was plain pasta I don't really remember. They were enthralled with the show and singing. The waitress came over and scolded my husband as he was cleaning up after one of the twins, and said something to the effect of "You leave that child alone and let her make as much a mess as she wants. She's on vacation!" It was so nice to actually just relax and enjoy a meal!

We took my daughter when she was 15 months and she loved it! We went with my SIL and family and I booked it because I thought my almost 3 yr old niece would like it. My niece didn't seem to care much about it but my daughter was dancing in her chair and singing and mesmerized by the entire show. My parents brought her on our last trip and she liked it just as much.

We took our 2 1/2 year old, and she loved it. I would recommend the 4:00 show. We considered getting a sitter, but the early show worked. The food is a great distraction at that age! Your 7 year old will love it!

I don't have kids of my own, but I've never seen a kid of any age not have a great time at the HDDR. It really is an "all ages" thing.
