I want to book the 4:00 Hoop-Dee-Doo but I have a 6:15 FP at POTC. So I would have to be at the entry to POTC by 7:30 at the absolute latest. Is that a do-able timetable? I would assume I could make it to the gates by 7:00 if I took the boat, but I could Uber if that would be faster.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you change your FP to a little later? Show lasts 2 hrs- give yourself an hour for the boat - lots of folks will be trying to get one. Not sure Uber will save you much time - doesn’t Uber have to drop you at the Transportation Center? At least the boat dock (from Ft W) is just outside entrance to MK. Maybe Minnie Van?

I'm boxed in by other FP times at the moment. I'd have to switch the whole night around, which I'd rather not do if I can make it. If the show lasts until 6 and I give myself an hour for the boat, I should be at the MK gates at 7. That should work. As I understand it, they give you a 15 minute grace period, so even if I don't make 7:15 at POTC entry, I have a few minutes to spare. I'm just hoping that an hour is a worst case scenario.

Minnie Van as a plan B is a good idea!

if you decide the Uber route remember that you will have to take an internal bus to other end of campground to get your UBER as there is no place for pick up at Hoop. I would allow at least an hour to get to MK by the boats as most others will be doing the same thing as you and most likely you will be waiting for the second boat. and if I remember right you have an hour to use the FP so you would have to be at POTC by 715 which will be very close

I think you’ll be fine taking the boat.

I think if you have a FP+ for 6:16 - 7:15 and you arrive at 7:30 you will not be allowed on

According to the FP info sticky on the Attractions board and multiple threads, there is an automated 15 minute grace period at the end of the fastpass time.

FP return windows for most rides and character M&Gs are 60 minutes long. The FP system normally allows a grace period of 5 minutes before and 15 minutes after the return window, but guests are advised against relying on the grace period. CMs have the ability to override the system and deny entry during the grace period depending on the situation.

I saw your post on TPAS forum and chose not to answer. I NEVER said there wasn't a grace period. But like the information you quoted above, you can not rely on it. I personally have been denied entry when I was late.

Yes, after I posted here, I thought it was probably a better question for transportation board but didn't know how to move it. I asked about the grace period because I misunderstood your answer and haven't been to WDW in 7 years. I was wondering if I was wrong about the grace period.

I guess I will take a chance on the grace period. Most posters have been able to use them, although it seems there is the very occasional exception, like your own experience. I will try to make it by 7:15 and if that doesn't work, hope for the best. Most replies indicate I can probably make the gates of MK by 7, it seems, which should give me adequate time. The grace period was just for a few minutes of breathing room if it's close.

You could make it, but it will be tight. I would take the boat. At the end of the show, just hightail it over to the dock. Uber won't work as it can't pick you up by Pioneer Hall and I wouldn't bother with a Minnie Van. I've waited up to 15 - 20 minutes for one and I think it will just cause you added stress. If you are on a boat by 6:30 pm, you should be fine.

I think you will be fine. Get on the first boat after your show. We were there this past Monday for the 6:15 show. We hustled to the boat after our show ended which was about 8:15 and we were in MK by 8:45. You do have to go through security but that went pretty fast. We had a 9-10 pm FP and ended up hitting another ride and being back to our FP by 9:10. Make sure you get on the direct boat to MK not the resort loop boat.

IDK. POTC FPs usually aren’t that hard to come by. Why stress yourself out?

Try to modify your FP to a later time.

Is this your visit to WDW? Will it be your last? If yes to either, no reason to rush around due to FOMO (fear of missing out).
Have you been on PoTC before? If yes, no need to worry about rushing out of dinner to ride it because you have seen it before.
Have you been to HDDR before? If no, I wouldn't cancel the ADR for it simply due to a FP for PoTC.
