Currently we have ADRs for Hoop Dee Doo at 4pm for 4 adults and our 2 yr old. We are staying at the cabins and the day of Hoop Dee Doo we are just having a rest day for my daughter. We want to swim and just give her a chance to take a normal nap and sleep in. So I didn't want to make ADRs anywhere that needed much transportation time. Anyways.....I noticed there is a Halloween party that evening. My husband and I were thinking about going just the two of us after the show for a fun night while my parents stay back with our daughter. What time do you think we would get to the magic kingdom after the show. I know we could get in as early as 4 but if we still do Hoop Dee Doo that would be impossible. I'm debating changing things around so we can get there right at 4 and have a few hours to do the more adult rides we would skip when we are at the park with our daughter. What would you do? We could always just eat lunch at Trails End or something, but that seems like such a downgrade in comparison to going to Hoop Dee Doo.

You could let your parents take your daughter to HDDR and you and hubby could hit the party right at 4:00. But, if you still go to HDDR, you could probably be in the park by 6-630 at the latest, leaving you plenty of time for fun.

Getting there around 6 doesn't sound too bad. I just want to be sure to get our money's worth out of the party. I have never been and have heard great things about the parade and fireworks. We are on the dining plan and need to use our credits. I was looking around for some other easy transportation options in reference to FW but it seems like most dinners don't even start serving until 5pm, so it would probably put us in the same situation. I did see we could do 1900 Park Fare at like 4:05. Do character meals take a long time? That would put us closer to magic kingdom in the end, but I don't want to suddenly turn our daughter's "rest day" into a crazy hectic travel plan.

If you do 1900 Park Fare dinner, you should be one of the earlier reservations. I would think you could do the buffet and see the characters in about 60-75 minutes. I would leave your cabin about 3 pm so you have plenty of time in case you have to wait for transportation. If you get to GF early, you can look around.

Leaving GF, all of you could take the monorail to MK, then you and your DH go into MK, while your parents and DD take the boat back to FW.

I don't think you will make it to the MK until closer to 7 The HDDR is approximately 2 hours, then you would need transportation to the MK, go through bag check & security and get your wrist band for the party. All that will take close to an hour.

Yeah it would be a bummer to not get there until 7. The draw of it was that we didn't have park tickets that day so it would be a way to get some extra park time without paying full price plus I have always wanted to see the party. Maybe this trip isn't the time to go though. The goal is to have an enjoyable, easy going trip with a toddler. I have to rein myself in a bit. I'm a disney junkie and whenever I'm there I just want to go go go and see as much as I can. Hoop Dee Doo is appealing because it's at our resort, I think our daughter will love the music, we get included beer ;), and gratuity is included. We have 2 credits from the dining plan to use up anyways, otherwise I think we will spend too much of our park time eating sit down food. I go back and forth thinking "if I'm at Disney already I should make the most of it and try to get in as much as I can, will I ever be back at Halloween party time" or "I should have a mellow day with my daughter and watch her enjoy everything and not overdo it." I appreciate all advice and comments and opinions. My husband thinks I'm crazy trying to discuss disney options so much, the boards are such a nice, helpful outlet.

I would go with the relaxing day at FW with your toddler & HDDR for an early dinner.
Given your love for Disney you WILL be back again

You really aren't going to have any time before the party if you go to Hoop de Doo. The show really is fun and you're staying right there at the Fort which makes it easy. Since this is a rest/down day, why not have the grandparents take the little one to the sing-a-long and movie while the two of you take a carriage ride around the Fort, there ahould be decorations out by then, and watch the fireworks from the beach or the 4th balcony at the Contemporary.

Do they still speaker in the music and sounds for special event nights?

They usually do for the regular fireworks so they should for the party nights. I've heard the holiday wishes music in Ohanas. Sometimes the speakers don't work though.

I wouldn't do HDDR and the Halloween party back to back. The tickets are pricey and special enough for both that I wouldn't want to be in a rush to get from one to another. Since you can get into the MK at 4 on a party night, I'd find a way to use every moment of that expensive ticket.

I've heard that Trails End is fantastic. A leisurely late lunch and then MNSSHP for you and DH sounds like a great evening plan.

Yeah, I would do it! I would be completely antsy after a resort day and 4 pm HDDR. I would be totally ready to jump on a boat and go to MNSSHP with DH! You would probably get there around 6:30 pm, ready to walk onto the bigger rides. Honestly, those overlap hours when they allow partygoers in and regular day visitors are still there are very crowded. If you and DH are alone, you can cover a lot of ground during the party hours. I would do it.

Everyone makes such good points. As soon as I decide one way someone says something else that changes my mind. Does anyone know how early you have to purchase the tickets to get the cheaper price? Maybe I'll wait to see how the travel day and first day at MK go and decide if we are up for a busy late night at the party.I know they may sell out but I'm not sure if I want to be at a sold out party anyways...or do they all seem to sell out nowadays.
