What age is best to get the humor etc? Also are there assigned seats or first come first served? Thanks

We took my DS when he was 3 and 7 - he enjoyed it much more when he was 7. He is now 15 and, while we plan on going on our next trip, he is not terribly excited about it. It really depends on the child, but for us, sweet spot was probably 6 - 12 years of age.

We went with our daughter from age four up. I'd say around eight is when she really got into it and "got" the humor. She still enjoyed it at age four though, as it's a fun environment. We did not bring her earlier than four -- more to free up ourselves to have fun than anything else :)

We have a four year old in our group so wondered if it would be worth the cost for her?

I don't think anyone on here can tell you, definitively, if the child in your group will enjoy it or not as every child is different. At 4, my DS would not have liked it and would have been bothered with how loud it was. As I mentioned, he loved it at 7 years old.

last time we were there with the big group the grandkids ages 3 to 16 all loved it and most were boys only 1 girl in the group. the hardest one was the 4 month old who decided she did not want to be still that night

My 7 and 9 year olds belly laughed through the show when they saw it. The 4 year old enjoyed it, but didn't get it like the older ones did. Hoping they all enjoy it again at 14, 12, and 9 this time. If you expect it to be a bit cheesy, you'll love it. If you don't end up enjoying it, at least you get a great meal. The food is excellent!

I believe seats are assigned in order of booking.

We just ate there Saturday night with our 3 year old and he loved it! He didn’t get most of the jokes but if we laughed, he laughed with us. There were parts he definitely understood and laughed at on his own though. He also loved when they brought the washboards out at the end to play on. At the beginning he wasn’t sure and thought it was a little loud but eventually got used to it. He barely ate a thing though so it was more for the show than the food. We booked the category that sits up on top and I think that helped him because he got to see from up high instead of being in the middle of it all

That's great. I still don't think anyone on here can definitively tell OP her child will like or dislike the show.

We first took our daughters when they were 5. They laughed at the show pretty well.

What is funny to me is as they have gotten older they swear the show is getting funnier. The show hasn't changed, they are just understanding more of the jokes.

At nearly 20 - it is still the first dining reservation on their "to get" list.

Took our 6 and 8 year old and the 6 year old was picked to go up for the show! They both loved it...at least until the 6 year old got picked and then her older sister spent the rest of the time in tears that SHE didn't get picked.
