Just changed my ressie from CG to HDDR, I haven't dont this show for 14 years so I am wondering if I will see the same thin, if the food is as good ( for park foof) as I remember. I know CG is good but wnanted my first night to be different then just sitting and having dinner. anyone that has gona recently do you have views and pictures of that? TIA, I hate second guessing eateries so far in advance, sure I am not the only one. :)

I Hate second guessing too! I've been doing that with a few but, now it's too late to change. The hddr is one thing I am nit questioning at all. Believe the show is pretty much the same everytime but, everyone in my family absolutely loves it. Sorry I don't have any pics. Go and have a blast :thumbsup2

Quite a change from CG to HDDR!! But I get your thinking on wanting something more than just dinner on the first night! It will really set the mood for a great vacation! It's been about 8 years since I've been, so I can't offer much on the food. Enjoy!! :wizard:

The change did hurt that much because I have CG on the last night of my vacation, again I am second guessing, this is the only vacation that becomes stressful to me :rotfl2:

Your pictures are great! I love your dress!

Awesome pictures, you were a gorgeous, looks like it was fun, I loved you on the stage, and a bride on a bus, what great memories you'll have for years to come :thumbsup2

Thanks!! It was pretty epic - Disney certainly knows how to throw a party. We knew from the start that we wanted to do Hoop De Doo...it's something we had always enjoyed as a family, and something that we knew would create lasting memories (which IMO is what Disney is all about)

Funny that you make the comment about "loving me onstage" - I had asked them quietly please NOT to pick me for anything like that - I had to get up at 4 Am on my wedding day to have hair and makeup done for our MK photo shoot so I was exhausted by this time....of course they ignored my request and put me in the show. It turned out pretty funny, and again, none of us will ever forget us.

My wedding planner said one of her favorite moments of the day was seeing me literally running to catch the bus in my dress as it went to pull away...by that time my hubby had put on bright orange crocs with his tux and was running to catch it too along with a bunch of our guests...we're quite a pair! but we figured why spend the extra $$ on transportation when Disney buses are free - it allowed us to do more for our guests in the long run, and we're a pretty easygoing bunch...I'm sure the other people on that bus ride are still telling that story to this day...:rotfl:

Sorry to hijack with more stories...now back to topic....

I also wanted to add that everyone agreed that the food at HDDR was some of the best they had on the trip - the fried chicken is great and so is the strawberry shortcake. We also ate at CG, which is by far a different experience...but would not have traded our night at HDDR for any other signature dining for this particular occasion :)

I went to the HDDR for the first time 2 summers ago and it was great. The show was a bit on the cheesy side, but it was certainly fun and we all had a blast. I ended up being pulled up on stage, which made it better for my friends! :rotfl:

As for the food, it was all pretty good. Nothing too crazy exciting, but I remember the chicken and corn bread being especially yummy. Plus, you can't go wrong with unlimited sangria (or beer or wine)...

Dh and I are planning on doing this on our first full night in January. We have never done a dinner show before and have heard nothing but great reviews for HDDR. If the food is anything like what is served at Trails End, it will be great.
