Hoop Dee Doo Revue

My hubby would not complain if I had to sit in his lap for an entire meal due to limited space......especially if we could get a "two for one" deal.:goodvibes

We go to the HDDR once or twice per year, usually with a party of 4, 6, 8 or 12. We've been seated everywhere from front and center downstairs, to the table along the side railings upstairs. There's really not a bad seat in the house. :goodvibes

We've been seated upstairs with parties of six several times; sometimes along that side rail, more often that not along the back rail facing the stage - (we've had the same exact table as the OP before; great view, wasn't it ?). Sometimes we have had two four top tables together to make our table, and sometimes we've had just the usual rectangular table. We never noticed a problem with either, maybe because when we're a party of 6, there are two small children with us ? (Not sure if the OP was all adults or not).

One thing that might help is to arrive early; that way if your table is unacceptable for a valid reason (as in the OP's case - too small, etc. rather than "I just dont like the view"), there is a better chance of being able to change it.

We did really like the view, honestly it was probably better than being on the floor below. We never complained about the view or being in the balcony. Our only problem was the table size as we really liked the view, show, and food. We had 3 adults, 2 teenagers the size of an adult, and one 9 year old. IMHO, I would think the table was too small even with two little ones but obviously they would take up a lot less room (esp. leg room:goodvibes which was a big problem)and maybe it wouldn't be as bad(although I would assume you would still have a problem with room on the table for your food). I do know that it was sold out so in their defense, there really wasn't anywhere for us to be moved and the other 6 party table had asked to be moved first(and they had one small one)so obviously they would have been moved first. My goal here is to make people aware and hopefully HDDR will change the tables in this section.:)

I have a question for you, you said you are sometimes seated at a two four top tables as a party of 6? The reason I am asking is that the HDDR manager said that in a Cat. 2 there are only 4 tables that a party of 6 is seated at(2 larger round tables down below and the 2 (one of which we were at) in the balcony. Was this table in a different category? Just curious!

DH and I have been to HDDR two times, both times in the front row (called at 180 days out). The first time was a party of 2 and the second time was a party of 5 seated at a six person table in the front row as well. It was on the left if you're looking at the stage. Don't be too excited to get in the front row though, both times I was picked to be the can-can girl:rotfl2: I still have never seen that part of the show as an audience member!!:lmao:

My group is mostly Big Guys, so if we ever have six going, we will book a 4 and a 2 on different credit cards. We always go to the 9:30, so we can get cat. 1 on the DDP, but in case we don't, we'll be covered.

Hi there ! We've been in all categories, but the two 4-top tables were upstairs, category 3, along the side rail opposite where the piano is downstairs, at the 9:30 show. The show was not sold out, but there were quite a few large groups in attendance - maybe this is why they did the 2 4-toppers . . . . . ? :confused3

I'm glad that you thought to post here, to give groups (especially groups of six, which seems the most difficult to seat !) a heads up on what to expect, and how to possibly alleviate an uncomfortable situation !
