When I called to book the Hoop Dee Doo they told me we would probably be on the second floor. There were no better options on the other nights we could make it unless we went to the late show which was what, 9:15? Seemed quite late--especially for dinner.

I've never been to this show. Is it worth going if we have to sit upstairs? Would we be better off to go to the later show when it will be less crowded? I suppose we could plan the day around it and have late lunch or break/snack back at the resort (we're staying at WL). DS (8) has no problem staying up late ...is the late show a better option?

Anyone have any thoughts?
TIA, sarah

DW and I had seat upstairs one year and loved them...we were close to the stage and could lean on the railing...

we also like doing the late show because when we usually go (first week in December) park hours are shorter and we don't want to take time away from the parks...and I think you can use DC discount on late show

I am thinking of doing the late show when we are there in September next year (mostly because we get a 20% discount at that show, and since we are vegetarians and we don't drink alcohol, the price just seemed better for us to go to the late show just for the experience of the show, and not so much the dinner).

Since we haven't done it yet, I can't say if I thought it was worth it. I do recommend the campfire program at FW with Chip and Dale. It is free, and my kids loved it!

My family had to sit upstairs one year, and it wasn't a problem. We could see everything well.

I personally would sit in the closet in the back of the hall if they made me... I LOVE Hoop Dee Doo. The second floor is not bad at all (there are actually some seats on the main floor that are worse because of obstructions). They play up the second floor by calling you "the folks on the shelf" so it makes it fun. The characters come upstairs too, so you are not left out. All the seats on the second floor are arranged so you are able to see out and over the railing (They are all arranged in one single row around the railings, so there are no tables behind tables). They really did a good job with making sure that no one is left out. You will love the show, we go at least once (sometimes twice a year).

Can anyone go to this???

Yes, it is open to anyone. They have a small campfire so you can make s'mores (you have to either bring your own or buy the items there, but it isn't too much).

They show a movie every night after Chip and Dale are done. It was a lot of fun!

The last time we went to HDDR - We were upstairs. We were directly facing the stage and right next to the guy with the spotlight. It was still great - we could see everything fine and some of the cast came up there too.

We were on the balcony for the HDDR and we had a great view. Probably much better than some on the first floor. The campfire is also great - if you do the early HDDR you might be able to get the bus over in time. If you do the late HDDR I would leave the campfire in plenty of time - we stay at FW all the time and the busses in the evening are sometimes not that reliable. You could walk if you want - we've done it before but it is a bit of a hike.

Okay, I have a different opinion. I did the Hoop Dee Doo twice now. The first time we had terrible seats upstairs. We were sidestage and there was a great big post in the way and I could not see. It was awful. And there was hardly any room we were packed in so tight, 4 of us all crammed together at a tiny table with posts in the middle facing out to the stage. But I didn't complain about it, I had invited others and since I knew I would probably go again, I wanted to make sure they had the better seats. It was cute because they shinned the spotlight on my son during the show and made him a part of it.

The second time I went, was upstairs as well. But this time was much better. There were no obstructions and we were able to see the stage well. And we had plenty of space between us.

I think most of the seats are pretty good. But just wanted to give you a different perspective.
