Hoop Dee Doo Revue Rumored Closing?

I would hate to see it go away since my wife and I got engaged there and had our wedding reception there last November. The food has changed and I've heard a lot of comments on the corn on the cob disappearing, the bread being changed and getting a bit carried away with the onions on top of the salads. Disney is always experimenting with changes at all the restaurants but if they receive a lot of negative feedback they will change it back. I used to love the baked beans but they changed those too.

As to the cost, get a Tables in Wonderland membership and you get a 20% discount on the ticket price. It ends up costing around $48. Not bad for dinner and a show with unlimited adult beverages :)

I was just listening to Extinct Attractions club podcast and they have rumored that Hoop Dee Doo Revue may be closing soon. Anyone else have heard rumors of this? I hope it doesn't close before my trip at the end of April.

Hi, I am new here but definitely not new to Disney. Everyone in the family is a longtime Disney fan! I am also nostalgic over the extinct attractions at the Disney parks. I am unfamiliar with the Extinct Attractions club, though. Can you give me more information about this? Thank you!

I don't think attendance is down for this event.

I called Sat. for a reservation for the week of June 21.

Nothing on Mon
Nothing on Tues
Cat 3 at 9:15 on Wed
Finally Cat 1 at 7:15 on Thursday.

No way will the Hoop be done away with! It's waay too popular.

We also have reservations for Thursday the week of June 21. But it's the show before yours!

We were just there for the first time last Tuesday and had the best evening!! Loved the entertainers and the food - so much of it that we couldn't finish!! Did not appear to be any indication of closing.

I Hoop They Doo close it! :rotfl:

Cute wording, but why would you hope they are closing it?

My kids love it - its reached tradition status for our family. Its fun, entertaining, and the food tastes very good. The service is wonderful. My friends kids were cold last year and their server brought them tablecloths for blankets and hot chocolate. Honestly, I've had worst food at Le Cellier. Maybe its overpriced, but isn't everything at Disney?

I'm just thankful that my kids can find this entertaining. I know of some jaded kids who look down on it. Its better quality than almost anything on the DIsney Channel '- UGH (but I guess that's another topic).

The price is steep b ut you have to think of it this way, you are paying for the show which also comes with a meal, rather than the other way around. We travel with a party of 7 so obviously for us to go it is very pricey.

My kids love the show my eldest in particular thinks it is hilarious he askes every time we are at WDW to go to HDDR (though we don't go every trip). Seriously my kids laugh the entire show. That alone is worth the price.

Went to WCC once long story but I am not sure that we would ever go back again, the service was poor and the "humor", well just not our style I guess.

I would be shocked to see HDDR close permanently it is a staple of WDW entertainment. A refurb maybe but not a complete forever closing.

I can't see it closing. I believe it's the longest running dinner show in the United States. We attend the show each and every trip and have never been dissapointed!

Someone mentioned a "Tables in Wonderland" discount (20%). What is that???? I have never heard of this.

Annual Passholders and Florida Residents can purchase the Tables In Wonderland card, which is a dining discount card that gets you 20% off at almost all Table Service and a few Counter Service locations (including alcoholic drinks, not covered under most other discounts).

The card costs $75 for AP holders, and I think $100 for residents.

Is this the same thing as the Disney Dining Experience Card????

Same thing, new (lousy) name. :)

P.S. It is far easier to get now. You can get it at any Guest Relations window at the 4 major parks and DTD, and maybe ticket booths.

can you buy it in advance online???

There should be a link on the Passholder web site if you are an AP holder. But if you buy it in advance, I believe it is active immediately.

I believe it generally expires one year from the end of the month you get it, or the next month, depending when during the month you get it or something like that.

I agree. The food selection certianly does not seem worth the price.

We agree with this also and the server we got kept forgetting us.
some in our group got their drinks and some didn't , we kept having
to "catch" the server as she hurried back and forth. They say it's all
you can eat , but trying to get 2nds so everyone in your party can
have some chicken and ribs , is very very hard.

The show was fun. It would be a once every few years thing
to do.
