I was just listening to Extinct Attractions club podcast and they have rumored that Hoop Dee Doo Revue may be closing soon. Anyone else have heard rumors of this? I hope it doesn't close before my trip at the end of April.

Hope this isn't true! Also have ressies for the end of April! Very hard to get ADR's for this ... why would they want to close it?

Maybe they are revamping it? We were there on the 12th and all the wait staff looked unhappy. Maybe they were told of it closing so that caused the unhappiness?

We were there in Feb. and had a great time. The staff didn't look unhappy to me- they were awesome. I hope they don't close it. My teenager even liked it.

We were there on 3/6 and the show was great. It is the third time I had seen it and by far the funniest. We had called three days before and got tier 2 reservations for our party of 12. There was no one on the upper level. Maybe lack of crowds is causing a problem? Or maybe they will close it a couple of days a week that are slow and that is the basis of the information?:confused3

I hope not!!! I just booked ADRs for my husband and I on our anniversary trip in June. We got Cat 1 for the 930 show, which I have to admit I was unusual as the date has been open for ADRs for a couple of weeks. Maybe reservations are down for this too?

There has been a rumor going around for quite awhile that HDDR is going to closed temporarily, or relocate while they renovate its facility. That rumor was posted here several months ago. Part of the rumor said they may use one of the empty buildings at PI while their facility is renovated. The HDDR venue has had very little work done since it was first opened, it has very restricted handicapped access and several other problems that need to be addressed.

The best time to close it temporarily or relocate it are now while crowds are down and construction costs are reasonable. :thumbsup2

I have seen this rumor pop up on bunch of places lately. Was wondering when it would find its way to the dis.

I hope not. Got to see it for the first time this past January, what a fantastic show. Can't wait to see it again.

I just have to add my .02. The pricing is WAY too high. We are talking $60 for fried chicken, mashed potatos, baked beans and bread. The show, IMHO. is kinda hokey and there are way better shows at Disney that come with the cost of admission. Whispering Canyon serves the same food for much less, and you still get entertained.

Walked by it this past Saturday and while I didn't pay a LOT of attention to it, I think it had "renovation walls" out in the front, at least if I am thinking of the right place.

Yeah, I gotta agree. We've done it a few times, but aren't in any hurry to rush back. Especially since they replaced the delicious bread with corn bread.

I love HDDR! I actually saw it twice in 7 months and my DF (well DH then) and I will be going to see it on our honeymoon...as long as it's still there.

Maybe they are cutting back on the number of shows due to all of the cut backs.

I love it and I really hope it doesn't go anywhere! :thumbsup2

Pioneer Hall is not walled up. You may be thinking of Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland

we really enjoyed the show.. I hope they don't close it completely... but it's not something we rush to see every trip. (It's a little off the beaten path.. and when you rely on Disney transportation to get to it, you have to leave yourself a lot of time, and several buses if you are going from another resort. ) When we went the 1st time, we were unaware that it was in the campground area, and had to take a bus back there. Luckily, our bus driver did us a big favor.. we started out in CBR... on the Epcot bus.. then he said this bus is turning into a FW bus after he unloaded in Epcot.. .. and then he dropped us off right near the show, so we didn't have to switch again. :worship: I wish I took down his name... I would have written a nice note. He got us there on time, otherwise we could have missed half the show.

I think that is correct. As I said earlier, I really wasn't paying a lot of attention to exactly what was walled up but thinking back it was Diamond Horseshoe.

I don't think attendance is down for this event.

I called Sat. for a reservation for the week of June 21.

Nothing on Mon
Nothing on Tues
Cat 3 at 9:15 on Wed
Finally Cat 1 at 7:15 on Thursday.

No way will the Hoop be done away with! It's waay too popular.

I agree. The food selection certianly does not seem worth the price.
