DISsers, I need some advice: my partner and I will be in the world next month (yay!) and I'm trying to finalize some of our plans. We are currently booked to do the frozen premium package on one of our 2 scheduled HS days (for the record, we're also doing the tomorrowland terrace dessert party at MK). After reading reviews of the package, it seems like the main draws for us (2 adults, no children) are the separate locations to view the morning entrance and the fireworks at night, and the treats and drinks in the evening. Neither of us are interested in the sing-along, so we won't be using that part of the package. We both enjoyed Frozen, and we have a FP+ to meet Anna and Elsa in MK, but we're both still on the fence about the package.

So my question: would you keep the premium package, or cancel it in favour of a dinner at HDDR? We've both been to WDW before, but neither of us have been to HDDR in the past. And we do have a couple of free days/evenings planned during our stay, so the show wouldn't necessarily take away from park time. (Secret option 3 is to do both HDDR and the Frozen package, but unless someone can make a really good argument for doing both I'm not sure it's worth the money).

Let me know what you'd do in our situation and why! I appreciate it in advance!

I've never done the Frozen package so I can't compare it, but I've seen the HDDR maybe 40 times and have loved the show each and every time. I vote for Hoop.

My vote is for Frozen! I did hoop during my last trip in April. I wasn't all that impressed. I thought it was a waste of 2 dining credits.

Hoop-De-Doo Revue. Take that with a grain of salt, however, as I would never spend the money on the Frozen package.

Definitely HDDR. You can still enjoy the frozen events without the premium package. We had no problem finding a spot for the parade or fireworks. I know you aren't planning on attending the sing a long but I encourage you to reconsider. The hosts were great and out was lots of fun.

Gotta do the Hoop. It's a staple. And you can still see all the Frozen stuff without the package.

I think it depends on how much the dessert party and drinks associated with it are worth to you. Probably 3-4 drinks each and some dessert. The other Frozen stuff it seems is just minor convenience and seems to be doable either way.

thanks to all who voiced an opinion so far! Right now it looks like 2 votes for Frozen and 7 for Hoop! If anyone has thoughts or advice for this decision that they'd like to share, I'd be very grateful.

40 times! Wow! It sounds like we've really been missing out.

I don't know how much it matters, but we aren't going with the dining plan, so either way it's an OOP expense. But I did post this because both events are comparably priced, so I do take your point that Frozen might be a better bang for my buck. Thanks!

Thanks, Mama Steph. I've heard some really great reviews of the sing-along, and it's definitely possible that we will make it there. Maybe I should have said it's not an important part of the package to us, because if we see it, we will probably do it on our other HS day (we both love HS, so before the Frozen stuff was announced we were already devoting two days to it during our trip). And I do agree, the events are still available without the package. One perk I see in not doing the package are that we can see the Frozen events either day, depending on crowd levels and our attraction schedule for the day, instead of being locked into the events for only one day.

Yeah, this is definitely how we're thinking right now. And because we've already got an ADR for the dessert party in MK during our visit, I'm not sure how important this is to us either. A few drinks and some dessert would be fun, but I'm feeling iffy about it being worth the cost of the package.

Thanks for voting, Disfan1968!

HDDR for sure! Not even close. The frozen fireworks are great from other places too, namely CSR.

I havent done the HDDR, but going by the reviews and hype, i would deifinitely go for it over the frozen package!
Let me start by saying how much in LOVE i was with the frozen package. The first day i found out about it, it was about 6 am and i was just waiting to call them at 7 so i could get it reserved. We were a party of 6, so the cost was coming to $354…
Considering this was kind of a high price, i wanted to be sure to read reviews about it and then decide if we wanted to book it, and so i did.. and from what i mostly read, i decided not to do it.
You can do the parade from the normal view, you can also do the sing along without the high price, and you can get a WAY BETTER view of the fireworks WITHOUT the package.
For the parade, i was a bit on the egde because we would be paying for convenience, rather than standing in the fairly large crowd in the heat being smushed, but when i saw the parade on youtube and couple of other blogs, it really isnt worth the price (in my opinion). You can do OK without the package for the parade. The sing along is also available to guests who dont buy the package.
Now the REAL and MAIN deal was the desert party and fireworks. For me it all really came down to this. Is this worth the $60 per person?
Lets see… The deserts and drinks would probably cost each person about $30 if you include alcohol and a fair amount of cupcakes from the trading oaks..
So now, the fireworks….. A REALLY REALLY BAD VIEW for the price… I've checked serveral blogs, videos, and pictures.. the trees + the stage + the giant hat greatly obstruct the view of the fireworks.. The best view is in the back, way further back…
So for us, no this wasnt worth $354…
If you show up to the parade lets says 45 mins in advance, you can get a good view.. If you show up to the singalong early and get a good time, you can have the same fun and if you stake out a good spot 50 mins-1 hour in advance for the fireworks, you can have a BREATH TAKING view of the fireworks.. they are simply magical!!
I really wanted to book this initially, but after thinking about it, i thought it would be better to put the money towards another reservation or memory maker or the cost of souveniors, or just something else…
Despite the high price, I would have done it hands down, and the only major reaosn i decided not to go with the premium package was because of the view for the fireworks..
I hope this helps!!

We've done both. I really enjoyed the Frozen package. We did it opening day. I started a TR and got as far as the desserts. Working on fireworks now.

We are considering buying the package again for Monday. That's how much we enjoyed it.
