I am looking to make reservations to HDDR. I am going to be using the dining plan but have not added it to my trip reservation yet. Do I have to pay for the HDDR up front or just reserve with a credit card and use dining plan when we get to HDDR.

If you have not paid for the dining plan before booking HDDR then you need to pay for it at the time of booking and can get a credit when you arrive and use the plan at HDDR.

This happened to us -- be aware that if you order tix before getting the DDP, then only Category B or C will be able to move over to the DDP. I did not know that and paid for Cat A tix... then they offered to chance us to the cat B or C if we wanted to apply the DDP and I said no thanks. It felt like not a good value at that point.

Also - know that there was a long line to check into the show and that it was a bit chaotic. The CM did not have a lot of time to give us options or let us decide.

Therefore, if I had to do it again, I would just wait to get the DDP and then get the tix. If you are going on a night that already has few tickets and it is going to ruin your trip not to go, then maybe I'd think differently.

Good luck!

We made our ADR for Hoop de Doo, paid out of pocket because we had not yet added DDP. I just added DDP and they said that they could credit me back at the window the night of the show, or they could rebook me a new one and cancel my old ADR. Now not sure if that moves us to the back of the room but, we made a new ADR and canceled the original ADR. I didn't want to wait in the line to get my $$ back.

With Category A seating your group will be closer to the stage and more in the center. I prefer to pay for cat A seating -- we were just one table away from the stage, and Six Bits even started interacting with us "the poor people in the green shirts!"

The earlier you book your reservations, the better your table, no matter which category you are in. So waiting to book until after you add the DDP could result in a less desirable table.
Good Luck

If you are reserving yourself using the online reservation system it will require credit card payment, however if you call member services to reserve they are able to make the reservation using your DDP and only hold a credit card for guarantee rather then it being pre-paid and requiring the hassle of a refund. I am traveling at the end of October and had no problem handling it like this.
