Lots of questions here, would appreciate ANY answers you may have.

Firstly, is it for us? We've read a bit about it and it sounds great, plus we really loved the Diamond Horseshoe (gutted that that's gone :( ) and it seems to be a longer version of that but with food as well. But it does seem like a family magnet and I'm not sure that as two people in their late twenties with no kids, we might stick out like a sore thumb.

Secondly, if we do go (and I think we will), how do we go about booking / reserving? As we're not going to be staying on Disney property, can we still ring up WDW?

And finally, what showing do you recommend we go to. Our guidebook says there are three a night, although I doubt that in off-season (we're going in October). But if there is more than one show, which is easier to get in to?

The only part of this that I can help with is the booking - yes you can still book through Disney if you're staying off-site!

Hi

We were thinking about this show - but we have decided to give the Luau a try at the Poly this year. We are a couple with no kiddies too - but I do turn in to a kid at WDW :D

I think the later show's have less children in or so I have heard...

Steve_Rob,

We loved the Hoop De Doo,I'd highly reccomend it.The show is great fun.The food is not bad,but that isn't what these dinner shows are about really.I don't think you'd stick out at all,go for it.There are so many people that visit Disney and don't have kids with them.

I would reccomend the latest show that is on in October as there will be less younger children (not that I've got anything against them!!) and more lilely to be more adult only groups.

One interesting fact is your actual table is booked when you make your reservation,so the earlier you book the closer to the stage you'll be.I booked exactly at the 2 year out mark (I think it is) yes I agree that is incredibly sad of me;) When we went into the show the server kept walking forward and I was hoping as we went along each table would be ours, and we ended up right next to the stage, because we'd booked so early I found out.

We almost didn't allow enough time to get there, we drove as we stay offsite.Make sure you allow quite a while better to get theer a bit early, there is stuff to do while you wait like a petting zoo.

Let us know if you go for it

:p :D

Go - the two of you will enjoy it. As someone said book the lastest show of the night. Just call Disney to book. There are several options of getting there. If you have a car just drive. We are local and we drive to the WL and park there and take a bus to the show. That is the best without getting into detail of why.
Have fun.

This is one of the best shows I've seen - although I was with a party of about 50 on 4 different tables - I could see that there were tables of two there and they seemed to be having a great time - the cast interacts a lot - so you won't feel out of it. I think it would be fun in a couple or as part of a group. Definately ditto on the last show. Can I also suggest a horse and carriage ride before or after the show I did this with some fellow Dis'ers and it was great fun I would have liked to have done it in daylight aswell but as it was Xmas time we saw lots of the RV's Xmas lights set up... you had to see it to believe it.

Also I find it's a slow process getting back to TTC so depending on where you are staying I'd drive as near as possible or get the boat to Wilderness Lodge and get a taxi back to on-site resort from there.

Thanks for all your advice - I have finally gone ahead and booked the 7:15pm show for the two of us in October. It's for a day we were planning to be at Epcot anyway, so it won't be too far to go once we leave the park.

The person on other end of the phone said that as we aren't on-site guests (and so can't get our tickets delivered to the hotel) we have to pick up our tickets on the night 45 minutes before the show. But other posts I've seen on the US side of the boards have suggested you can pick them up days, if not weeks beforehand and the earlier you pick them up, the better seat you'll end up with (they seemed to suggest that the earlier you pick up, NOT the earlier you book is the deciding factor). Anyone know if this is true or not??

That's what I was told when I booked. I was also told that you could only pick the tickets up 7 days in advance. The implication was that the tickets were printed by your resort computer when you request them (subject to the 7 day rule) but I guess the same would apply to getting them straight from the Hoop de Doo place. I haven't heard of anyone else being given this information but I had quite a conversation with the CM when I booked and I got the impression he knew what he was talking about.
