Hoop Dee Doo - pay for level 1 - front rows ?

We attended Sat, 9/8 and used (free) dining credits. I was told on the phone we would be tier two. Afterward, they announced you could use DDP for tier one at 9:30. The show was sold out. We sat in the second row of tables, two out from center- the best seats in the house. Had the best server ever, at least the most entertaining- Dallas. I've sat in the balcony and everywhere on the main floor. It's a great show with great food whereever you sit.

We had the DDP in 4/2007 and chose to pay out of pocket to get tier 1 ADR's. It was definitely worth the money! We were as close up to the stage as a party of 8 could be and my Dad was the guy in the crowd that Ruby chose to kiss. Twenty-five years ago he was chosen to be the "fairy" so everything has come full circle! My DD's loved this (ages 2 and 4) and we will definitely do it again! Have a great time!

Thanks DreaminDisney. I have mine booked already for March 2008 on the Dining Plan but they did not tell me which tier-can you find out before you get there?
minnieNurse, If you already booked for March '08 I'd be surprised if you didn't have teir 2.
You can call them back and ask:)

but the question is whether it is worth it to pay more for tier 1? It seems like it would only be worth it if there is some value. Being 50 feet closer isn't much of a value. Having a much greater chance of your kids participating is a huge value.

In December we sat at the front table right by the stage. In August we sat in the balcony. I prefer the balcony. I didn't like being in front of everyone and the service was not as good on the floor as in the balcony. The balcony seemed more relaxed and honestly this past show in the balcony was the best HDDR experience I've ever had and I've done the show like 15 times.

:offtopic: This is a little off topic-but if you have the dining plan what tier do you get? We have sat on the main floor and in the balcony in the past, and even though we were not in the front, we liked the main floor better.

We are doing the Deluxe Dining Plan in March so I guess we will get whatever they give us, in the past we would always pay OOP for HDD, but with 3 meals a day there is no need to pay OOP.
With DDP you get tier 2 or 3. However in 2008 DDP if you go to the 9:30 show you can use your DDP for the first tier. That is what my dh and I are doing. We haven't been to HDDR for 8 years so I am hoping for a great time. We aren't used to eating that late but it will be fun anyway. Enjoy

I would pay for Tier 1, or I wouldn't go. Like Fantasmic, this is a once every 5 years or so for us. We're just not that enchanted with HDDR. So, it's good up front seats or we don't bother.

Great info. We're going this year so I have not paid attention to any of the 2008 changes etc.

OP, I have never been to hddr so I can't comment if it would be worth it to pay oop for tier 1. Some people including myself don't like to be that close to a stage so I guess it's all just personal preference.

Happy planning:wizard:

The main reason that I booked Tier 1 seating for our December trip is that I don't like the balcony bar stool seating. It was very uncomfortable to me because I'd rather be able to put my feet on the floor instead of a bar stool rung. Since I've always been seated in the balcony for two previous trips, it will be interesting to see how the show looks from the floor.

We loved the Hoop Dee Doo. We were in the front row, our table was touching the stage. It was very fun and very entertaining, we loved every min. of it. But here is the But while the people were on stage singing some of them spitt Im sure not on our food on purpose. Just something to think about.

I just called for the end of January. Tier 1 was sold out! That helps with the decision making!:rotfl:
