Hoop Dee Doo or Ohana

We have a dinner in December booked for Ohana, but after my picky father saw the menu he is grumbling about going there. So now I am debating whether we should switch to Hoop Dee Doo instead. Which would you do if you had the choice? Also, at Hoop Dee Doo is their white meat fried chicken (seriously he is so picky)?

We're doing both on our December trip. The food is completely different between the two. With a picky eater, Hoop Dee Doo is probably a safer bet. The bucket of friend chicken has breast, thigh, leg, and wing pieces, so there is white meat.

Agree with calliope that Hoop Dee Do is likely the better choice for a picky eater. We ate there earlier this year for the first time and really enjoyed it. The great food combined with the terrific show is sure to please everyone.

IMO, the 'Ohana menu is pretty basic and not weird at all. Salad, noodles, bread pudding with ice cream and caramel sauce, pot stickers (meat inside fried dough---what's not to like?) grilled shrimp, steak, pork, turkey. This is meat-eater heaven.

However... if you don't like soy sauce, 'Ohana would be a terrible choice for you.

I'm sure you'd be happy with either place. I live in NC where the Hoop de Doo meal is what is offered all the time, so 'Ohana is a nice change for us.

I love both places. And yes, Hoop De Doo is really basic southern comfort food for sure. However, I like the menu choices at O'Hana equally well.

If there are going to be people possibly circling the restaurant or my table, it better be entertaining adults with unlimited sangria on that table. Husband and I love the Hoop Dee Doo. If we ever do 'Ohana again, it will be room service at my bungalow while watching Wishes from my personal plunge pool. Oh, and Hoop Dee Doo will allow your dad to eat all the white meat fried chicken he desires.

Ohana is a meal, Hoop dee Doo is a chaotic dinner show with southern comfort food slammed on your table. I can't imagine a picky eater having trouble at either. Hoop dee doo wait staff will bring you extra chicken breasts without the rest of the bucket if you ask. They also have fairly generic BBQ ribs. The food is similar to Trails End you are paying the premium for the entertainment. We ended our trip with it last year and it was perfect.
