They are both at FW and about the same price but I hear a lot about hoop dee doo review. Which one is better and why? Has anyone done both? I have a 5 and a 2 yr old if it matters.

Hi, We are yet to try both shows, we have the Hoop Dee Doo, booked for Dec. We chose this one however b/c Mickeys BBQ is outside, and if it rains, they said it would be canceled. So, we wanted to make sure we were fed! LOL :mickeybar
I too have heard lots of great things about Hoop Dee Doo, we are really looking forward to it! We have a 3.5 year old.

Good Luck making your decision.
A great book to buy is the Offical guide to WDW Birnbaums. It has alot of great dining info in it..w/descriptions of all the dinner shows, and character experiences.

HoopdeDoo will entertain your children. It's all you can eat family style. I thought it was expensive but since it includes the dinner show, it was worth it to me. We thought the food was good, not excellant or extravigant but good. We were pleased. I would recommend it highly considering the BBQ is outdoors which can be very hot during summer or rain...

We've done both and we enjoyed the Hoop dee revue better.

We went to the BBQ last fall and it's in a roofed, screened in picnic room so it doesn't matter if it rains. It was kind of fun but it was all country music (I don't like country music--had I known the type of music I wouldn't have gone). The characters dance with the kids and my 9 and 12 yo dd's loved it. My husband likes country music so he enjoyed it also. The food was pretty good but it wasn't the best I've ever had but it definitely wasn't the worst and it's all-you-can-eat buffet style. It was a little muggy in there and on a hot summer evening I think it would be very stuffy.

We went in 2003 when my boys were 5 and 7. They still talk about it. They absolutely loved it. They were belly rolling laughing at times. They wanted to do it again this trip, but we are doing Spirit of Aloha.
